This is the first time Colombia is hosting a FIFA Women’s tournament. This is the 11th edition of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup and it will be played in the cities of Bogotá, Cali and Medellín from Saturday, 31 August to Sunday, 22 September.

Nigeria, Germany, Brazil and USA are the only countries to appear at every single edition of this tournament since inception.

For the 2024 edition, the tournament will grow from 16 to 24 teams. The top 2 teams will automatically advance to the round of 16 alongside 4 of the best 3rd placed teams across the 6 groups in the competition.
