Chidimma Adetshina - Similarities Between South Africa And Yoruba People by Af0nja: 10:51am On Sep 01 |
Chidimma Adetshina, the newly crowned Miss Universe Nigeria was torn between ethnic sentiments in her naturalized country of South Africa because she is of mixed parents from Nigeria and SA. This caused her to become even popular as she was a centrao subject for keyboard warriors. The comic of this situation is that Chidimma even would have been subjected to the same treatment if she were to compete in any Yorubaland while bearing a mixture of Igbo and Yoruba name. This was evident even during the Lagos state election and the overall attitude of majority of Yorubas towards Igbos. One Yoruba priest was even recorded preaching against singing of Igbo songs in their church even if the led priest is Igbo. The funny thing is Chidimma would have been bullied if she was to compete for Miss Lagos or Miss Kwara with Chidimma in her name. 1 Like |

I don't think so... See, my ex, ibo girl, born n bred in Ekiti, speaks all versions of Yoruba fluently, infact refuses to answer Amaka, calls herself Esther When I took her home, I introduced her as Amaka to my mum, my mum assumed she doesn't speak Yoruba, my mum spoke English until Amaka answered her in Yoruba When I went to their house, despite the fact that they all speak Yoruba, pidgin and English The mum chose to speak only igbo throughout my stay, the only language she knows I don't speak and Amaka has to be answering her in English just to make me feel comfortable I left... 1 Like |

The difference between your experience and the OP's is that yours is private whilst his is public knowledge. I doubt your story because anyone who knows you knows you are a tribal bigot. Amaka ko, Esther ni People have married people they don't understand a word in their spouse's language but because it's "IBO" you left. Keep exposing your self illicit: 1 Like |

Af0nja: Get your facts straight her mom is Mozambique not South African who stole someone’s identity in order to get birth certificate for chichi. We were not gonna have a problem if she was a legit citizen 1 Like |

KLEINBASS: Okay so what about all the xenophobic attacks on foreigners?? Did their mother also forged birth certificate? |

Af0nja: There is no xenophobic attacks , we simply asking those without papers to go home and come back in a proper way. Like for god sake what is an undocumented Nigerian even doing this far . |

KLEINBASS: You're a typical South African, they never take responsibility for anything in their life |

illicit: Igbo is not Ibo, so you want a mother to speak Yoruba (because of course no one speaks English at home unless you were raised in an estate) just to appease your comfort? A woman that has spoken Igbo to her daughter for decades should now switch to English or Yoruba for your sake?? And this is enough reason for you to leave? You never wanted to stay okay. I'm not saying there are no tribalistic Igbos, just saying your situation doesn't call for leaving |

Af0nja: What was wrong is that they speak English most of the time... Amaka hardly speaks Igbo... I know d dad wella, the mum just didn't make me feel welcome for reasons best known to her Amaka apologized 1 Like |

Af0nja: You take responsibility by running away from your country to become responsibility of other countries and curse them every chance you get yet refuse to go home. We have Nigerians seeking asylum in South Africa and the cry xenophobia when denied or get deported. South Africa is my responsibility and I will never runaway no matter how bad it gets. I love my country
