Urgent need to tame the excesses of igwe Ernest Mmaduagwuna of Awba Ofemili community in Awka north.*

Igwe Ernest Mmaduagwuna that is the traditional ruler of Awba Ofemili community is biting more than he can chew.

He acts as if he is above the law and the people of Awba Ofemili can no longer condone his excesses hence their reason for leading a protest match recently to Anambra State government house to send a save our soul message to Governor Soludo.

The main bone of contention is Igwe Mmaduagwuna decision to impose his stooge in the person of Mr Fidelis Chinedu Mmegbnene on Awba ofemili people as their President General.

Had it been that Igwe Mmaduagwuna choice emerged as PG through a transparent town union election process , the people of Awba ofemili would have accepted him as their PG but they are revolting against him because he did not emerge through a transparent town union election process.

On the day Awba Ofemili town union election was held, the person that won the election was Hon ignatius Okafor, an APGA stalwart that coordinated Prof Soludo 2021 governorship election campaign and delivered.

When igwe Mmaduagwuna saw that ignatius Okafor is wining the election, he instigated Hon Thankgod that came to supervise the election to cancel the election and they told the people of Awba Ofemili that they will communicate the next date the election will be conducted to them.

As the people that gathered for the town union election dispersed, igwe Mmaduagwuna and his cohorts returned around 6 to 7pm to conduct a kangaroo election for his stooge in the person of Mr Fidelis Chinedu Mmegbene and he emerged unopposed as PG of Awba ofemili in that Kangaroo election.

That despicable action of igwe Mmaduagwuna and his cohorts is condemnable.

He murdered sleep in Awba ofemili with such despicable action and that is why awba ofemili people are threatening fire and brimstone.

They embarked on a protest to government house to express their displeasure over the despicable action of igwe Mmaduagwuna and his cohorts.

The question begging for answers is why is igwe Mmaduagwuna hell - bent on imposing his choice of PG on Awba ofemili people.

Why is he fighting Hon ignatius Okafor that worked for Governor Soludo election victory in the last 2021 governorship election and delivered.

The obvious answer to this question is that he has skeleton in his cupboard and that is the reason he does not want an independent minded character like Hon ignatius Okafor to be the PG of Awba ofemili.

His major predicament is that ignatius Okafor is enjoying massive support from awba ofemili people and fighting him is tantamount to a Camel passing through the eye of a needle.

Awba ofemili people are now saying it boldly that igwe Mmaduagwuna must go for peace and sanity to return to their community because they are of the belief that his excesses is the root cause of the current crisis brewing in their community.

igwe Mmaduagwuna cannot be a law unto himself.

The need for government to reprimand him and tame his excesses cannot be over emphasised.
