Instead of blindly attempting to peg down prices, they should rather address all the factors that drive soaring prices.

Exactly. cool

One of the useless organisation that should be scrapped. They should go and treat nnpl and independent marketers to stop selling fuel at the rate of 1200

^^^
Even though they seem to have gotten it wrong with this business of intervening to fix prices, they are not useless.

I know someone who was saved by the FCCPC when some scammers tried to defraud him a while back. The police SFU, EFCC etc. ignored his petitions but the FCCPC forced the scammers to pay back everything.

, when the price of fuel is increasing every week...why won't price of foodstuffs and goods skyrocket ..it's the high costs of transportating this foodstuffs and goods to the market that is making the price of foodstuffs and goods to skyrocket

Has anyone done a study on this or is there any data on this. I'm curious to know if the prices are going up in step with the increase of the input costs or if there is actual price gouging and price fixing going on. In the US some of the inflation was due to companies price gouging post Pandemic.

Imagine because of the Naira weakening to the dollar.

Goods I sell at 100naira before Tinubu, now 300/400 after Tinubu remove Subsidy and floated Naira. Fuel was at 568 Naira.

Now, Fuel is at 1,000 Naira. To go and buy my goods now, I pay 3× the transport cost, coupled with Iyaloja levy and LIRS tax, won't I add it to my goods when selling to final consumers?

How won't price of commodities go up?

How can FCCPC control this?? Abi make I no gain?

.. here in Nigeria it's the high costs of fuel that is causing the high costs of food stuffs and inflation..due to the removal of fuel subsidy

FCCPC is a toothless bulldog, which is used by the political class to haunt some rivals. What have they doen to filling stations selling at arbirarily prices? what have they done to Cement, Sugar, Spagetti and Salt producers and sellers?
