They pounce on Bush animals and humans,

Squeeze oxygen and life off them by wrapping itself on the victim...

And then proceed to swallow the victim completely.

When an animal kills a human the animal is not considered a murderer. The animal is usually put down. The attack by the snake was considered an unacceptable danger to the grandmother which led to the loss of her life, not murder.

Murder by these slitherings and other predators will decrease if the village declare every snake and bush animal pepper soup material.
