PICMAC LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT TRAINING PROGRAM FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL PREFECTS AND LEADERS

The role of prefects and student leaders in secondary schools is crucial for maintaining discipline, promoting a positive school culture, and serving as role models for their peers. However, these students often assume leadership positions without prior training, which can limit their effectiveness. To address this gap, Pinnacle College of Media, Arts and Communication (PICMAC), has designed a comprehensive Leadership Development Training Program tailored specifically for secondary school prefects and leaders.

The PICMAC Leadership Development Training Program for Secondary School Prefects and Leaders aims to equip young leaders with essential skills, knowledge, and confidence to excel in their roles, foster positive school culture, and prepare for future leadership challenges. Through a blend of interactive workshops, hands-on activities, and real-world applications, participants will develop key leadership competencies, enhance their personal growth, and build a supportive network of peers.

Program Objectives:

1. Develop Leadership Skills: Equip participants with practical skills in leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making.

2. Enhance Self-Awareness: Encourage self-reflection and personal growth to help leaders understand their strengths, weaknesses, and leadership style.

3. Foster Teamwork and Collaboration: Promote effective teamwork, conflict resolution, and collaborative strategies to work efficiently within their school environment.

4. Cultivate Ethical Leadership: Instill values of integrity, empathy, and ethical decision-making in leadership roles.

5. Prepare for Future Challenges: Provide tools and strategies to navigate future leadership challenges and opportunities in school and beyond.

Program Components

1. Interactive Workshops: Explore core leadership principles, styles, and techniques. Learn strategies for clear, persuasive, and empathetic communication. Develop skills to manage and resolve conflicts constructively. Understand the importance of teamwork and how to build and lead effective teams.

2. Skill-Building Activities: Engage in simulated situations to practice leadership and decision-making skills. Collaborate on projects that address real-world issues and implement solutions. Exchange constructive feedback with peers to refine leadership approaches.

3. Guest Speakers and Panels: Hear from experienced leaders, educators, and alumni who share their insights and experiences on leadership and personal development.

4. Personal Development Plans: Create individualized action plans to set personal goals, track progress, and apply learning to their leadership roles in school.

5. Networking Opportunities: Build connections with fellow student leaders, mentors, and professionals to establish a supportive network and share best practices.

6. Reflection and Evaluation: Engage in self-assessment and peer evaluations to reflect on personal growth and program impact.

Target Audience: The program is designed for high school prefects, class representatives, club leaders, and other student leaders who are committed to enhancing their leadership abilities and making a positive impact in their school community.

Duration and Format: The PICMAC Leadership Development Training Program is offered as a day-long intensive workshop or a series of weekly sessions over a school term. Each session includes a combination of lectures, interactive activities, and group discussions to cater to diverse learning styles and schedules.

Expected Outcomes: Participants will leave the program with a deeper understanding of their leadership style, enhanced communication and problem-solving skills, a clear vision for their role, and practical strategies to apply their new knowledge in their school and future endeavors.
