It was introduced by Yar'Adua government not Tinubu. Tinubu only destroys what he meant ok ground.

Over 95% of Nigerians and Nigerian businesses rely on fuel for running their daily lives, from fuel to power generators to fuel for transportation.

Bring fuel price down to affordable price that will touch the largest number of Nigerians or invest heavily and compel state and local government to also invest heavily in public transportation and good road infrastructure.

Using propaganda to push people towards cng will backfire in the long term cos the necessary infrastructure, technology and education is not in place yet to support that.

CNG is cheap now and the capitalist wolves are waiting around the corner for more people to be drawn into the market before they start sabotaging, creating scarcity and increasing price.

Same way they convinced people to move to cooking gas cos it's cheap and clean and good for the environment... within 3 years cooking gas has moved from N200 to N1300 as of today.

Don't fall for Tinubu propaganda.

I heard an unconfirm report on radio that if you want to convert to cng its cost 1.5m.

I hope this is not true and if it is true then krubu should be prepared for mother of all protest come Oct.

The government didn't talk about the cost of the kit and installation cost.

Installation is cost is f..king crazy, you can spend 400k plus, I did for #660k plus for my Tacomas early last year.

So figure the cost now things have sky rocketed.

Would they open the commercial drivers heads to stamp CNG option into it ....I am in logistics for your information and we have known about CNG long before even tinubu came in......CNG is available for anyone who needs it,what part of that is so difficult for you to understand......why are you so slow!!

And the sheer ineptitude and unpreparedness of Emilokan is in full glare once again. His govt has not provided up to 100 functional CNG buses in total, then the actual CNG stations are also few and far between and many regular service stations do not even know that CNG is let alone being ready to buy, store and dispense to the public.
If this man had any sense, before removing subsidy completely, he would have setup a chain of CNG stations in the FCT and provided at least 100 buses for the FCT alone to test for viability.

The ORIGINAL condition was that subsidy had to be removed FIRST before the CNG equipment suppliers moved in. The major investors wanted guarantees that subsidy would be removed before investing billions of USD funds in CNG refill stations and vehicle CNG conversions kits. Conversation of vehicles ALSO takes some time because you have to put different CNG kits together. I read her on NL though that Lanre Shittu motors has an assembly plant in Lagos State where FULL option CNG-BASED big buses are already being produced and these do not need to be converted.

I hope that helps you and others to understand why the former President Muhammed Buhari removed that subsidy before the current President was sworn in. This is the reason why he said subsidy is gone on the day of his inauguration. In any event, we know that subsidy is back because as of two weeks ago, the NNPCL was importing PMS at a landing cost of N1200 and selling at the lesser cost of N720 at the depots. That's a massive lose the government took to protect Nigerian folks from more hardships that would have arisen from buying gasoline at over N1200 per liter. With Dangote Petrochemical Refinery producing from last week, NNPC had to jerk up their pump price to over N800 per liter of gasoline because of the heavy depts incurred of over 6 billion USD from just providing petroleum subsidies which is NOT sustainable.

So, the CNG option is the cheaper and BEST at N230 per standard cubic feet of CNG (instead of PMS) which some car and truck owners have been enjoying since the launch of the FIRST NNPC mega CNG refill station in Lagos State on May 30 2024 based on what I have read online. By now, I expected that many CNG-based trucks and big buses would have been released by Lagos and other states to lower the cost of food items and transportation by over 60 percent like President Tinubu promised in his August 2024 Presidential speech to make things easy for those Nigerians who are finding it excruciatingly tough to buy drugs, and do NOT have the disposable income to buy food and transport themselves.

Dangote Petrochemical Refinery can then EXPORT the refined PMS to earn massive FX inflows for Nigeria thereby making the Naira stronger, so, everybody wins at the end of the day. Many Diasporan Nigerians are concerned because things are tough for people back in Nigeria and there is a shart spike in anti-immigration protests and resentments in the UK and even people are dumping Canada because of the bad economy and relocating to other better economic climes. This has led to many Diasporans paying more attention to events in Nigeria and other countries So as to start reinvesting back home. So, Nigeria has to be put back together ASAP economically, politically and socially.
