Tinubu Govt Budgets N2.9Billion To National Agric Centre To Construct Islamic Centre, Town Hall, Others

Meanwhile, the analysis showed that the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation - Ilorin got a total budgetary allocation of N38,889,633,603 in the 2024 Fiscal Appropriation Act.

An analysis of the 2024 Fiscal Appropriation Act by SaharaReporters has shown that President Bola Tinubu’s administration budgeted the sum of N2,938,454,545 billion (N2.93 billion) under the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM) - Ilorin, Kwara State for the construction of a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) office in Oyo State, completion of Islamic centre in Niger State, amongst other projects outside its jurisdiction.

Meanwhile, the analysis showed that the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation - Ilorin got a total budgetary allocation of N38,889,633,603 in the 2024 Fiscal Appropriation Act.

Operating under the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation has the mandate and mission “to enhance agricultural productivity and sustainability by providing farmers with access to modern machinery and innovative technologies.”

On its website, the agency stated: “As a government organization, we are dedicated to supporting the agricultural sector with integrity and transparency.”

On agricultural machines and equipment rental services as part of its operation, the agency stated, “At NCAM, we understand the importance of having access to reliable and efficient agricultural machinery.

“Our machinery rental service allows farmers to rent high-quality equipment such as tractors, plows, harvesters, and other essential tools.

“Whether you are a smallholder or a large-scale farmer, our rental service is designed to meet your needs and help you achieve optimal productivity.”

However, SaharaReporters’ analysis of the 2024 approved budget showed that Tinubu’s government budgeted the sum of N35 million to the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation - Ilorin for the “Construction of FRSC office in Igboho, Orelope Local Government Area, Oyo State.”

A sum of N45,454,545 was allocated to the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation - Ilorin for the “Completion of Erena Islamic Centre in Shiroro/Rafi/Munya Federal Constituency, Niger State.”

Also, N90 million was allocated to the same agency for the “Construction of examination hall at Kisi Community Grammar School, Kisi, Oyo State,” while N100 million was allocated for the “Provision of tricycles to youths in Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency, Oyo State.”

Another N100 million was budgeted under the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation - Ilorin for “Training and empowerment of youth and women to enhance security in Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Kogi State.”

A total sum of N205 million was allocated to the agency for the “Provision and installation of solar street lights in (unspecified) communities in Adamawa State,” “Provision of solar street lights in various locations in (Amakpu-Amata-Ubegu Ihie), Ebonyi State,” and “Construction of modern bridge in Ogidi, Idemili North Federal Constituency, Anambra State” respectively.

Further analysis of the budget showed that Tinubu’s government budgeted the sum of N1.5 billion under the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation - Ilorin for the “Construction and equipping of modern civic centres in selected locations in Bende North & South (BFC - Bende Federal Constituency), Bende Local Government Area, Abia State (Lots 1-3).”

Also, N150 million was allocated to the same agency for “Wike road extension (Enwe Wike)/Tomba extension, Rumuepirikom, Port Harcourt, River State,” while another N150 million was budgeted for “Ogwua/Donny/Worgunmati road extension, Rumueme Kingdom, Rivers State.”

A sum of N200 million, N100 million each was allocated to the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation - Ilorin for “Ngeche/Rochi/ACM road, Oginigba town, Rivers State,” and “Renovation of Umuroke town hall in Omuma local government area, Rivers State.”

Another N200 million, N100 million each was budgeted under the same National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation - Ilorin for the “Construction/renovation of selected schools in Badagry Federal Constituency (Lagos),” and “Reconduiting and electrification of Babanna line in Agwara/Borgu Federal Constituency, Niger State.”

Also, N50 million was budget for the “Construction of solar powered boreholes with overhead tanks in Majigiri, Dandana and Bujawa in Mashi/Dutsi Federal Constituency, Katsina State,” while N58 million was budgeted for the “Rehabilitation of primary schools and health centres in Ondo Central Senatorial District,” and N55 million was budgeted for the “Provision/installation of 35 Nos all-in-one solar street lights at Ifelodun Eweta Ikotun, Osun State.”
