cococandy:Even throw chicken or plenty of fowls from poultry inside the farm they eat up the grasshoppers that must have eaten the whole leaves and fertilise the farm for you with thier droppings naturally. |

Originalsly: Thanks. I even feel lucky since I have a bountiful harvest in the other crops that I farm. Now imagine the farmers in Borno, they lost everything to the flood that is still ravaging the State. As for the disease. It is a strange disease. It also affected Okro and Sorrel plants in Kaduna last year. 2 Likes |

Pootle: You can never see any weed farm in Kaduna. Weed farmers are mostly found in Edo North Senatorial district and Kwale part of Delta state. |

Bobbyjay001: Thank you I will love to tutor you on Ginger farming. However, I don't know if Ginger will be good for your type of Soil. Ginger doesn't grow well in some kind of Soil. There is a reason why Southern Kaduna are the largest Ginger farmers in Nigeria. The reason is their kind of soil is good for Ginger farming. I will advise you use a small portion of ur farm to experiment your Ginger farm. I can explain to you on when to plant your Ginger and the entire process that is involved. 3 Likes |

Omoluabi16: Thank you and Amen to your prayers. For now, the disease is not avoidable cause it is a stranger disease that took farmers unaware. We tried to apply herbicide, but none could eliminate the disease. The disease also affected Okro and Sorrel plants in Kaduna last year. |

LocalFARMERS: Wow. Didn't the Agriculture Dept or whoever find out the cause? You should try y to find out from them. If it is new...then most likely it is from some foreign crop or bugs brought into the country and can spread throughout . Then again I wouldn't be surprised if Bill Gates is behind this in order to introduce his GMO disease resistant crops. He is now into agriculture ... food control ... recently visited Nigeria .. for what... we weren't told. New deadly diseases suddenly popping up in humans ....Ebola ... COVID ... mPOX ...now in plants?...after his visit? I wouldn't be surprised. 1 Like |

LocalFARMERS: Thank you and God bless you for your prompt response. It's a delight and privilege meet someone like you online, who despite all that just happened, is willing to share his knowledge with a total stranger. God will continue to bless you for that. I am willing to start small and use small portion of my available land to test the viability of ginger in my location. Besides, I met a guy here last year, who testified that our soil is okay for ginger farming. He's based in Osun State but I recently changed phone and lost his contact. Thanks once again. I am willing to learn and know what it takes to be a successful ginger farmer. I want to opt out of tomatoes farming. It's oversaturated and I made lots of loss this year due to draught and glut. God bless you richly. 1 Like |
