Shikena:
Several major empires and kingdoms flourished in what is now Nigeria before colonialism:

1. Kanem-Bornu Empire (c. 700–1900s): Located in the northeastern part of modern Nigeria, it was one of the longest-lasting African empires. The Kanem-Bornu Empire was influential in the trans-Saharan trade and was known for its military strength and Islamic scholarship.

2. Sokoto Caliphate (1804–1903): A large Islamic state founded by Usman dan Fodio during the Fulani Jihad. It controlled much of northern Nigeria and part of neighboring regions. The caliphate was a major center of Islamic culture, trade, and scholarship.

3. Oyo Empire (c. 1400–1835): Located in the southwestern part of Nigeria, it was the most powerful Yoruba state. The Oyo Empire was known for its sophisticated political structure, trade, and military prowess, particularly its cavalry.

4. Benin Empire (c. 1180–1897): Located in the southern part of Nigeria (not to be confused with the modern country of Benin), the Benin Empire was a highly advanced and organized state known for its art, particularly the famous Benin Bronzes, as well as its trade relations with Europeans.

5. Hausa City-States (c. 1000–1800s): Located in northern Nigeria, these were independent states like Kano, Zaria, and Katsina, which were centers of trade, learning, and Islamic scholarship. The Hausa states were later incorporated into the Sokoto Caliphate after the Fulani Jihad.

6. Nri Kingdom (c. 900–1911): Located in southeastern Nigeria, the Kingdom of Nri was ruled by the Igbo people and had a unique system of governance based on religious and moral authority rather than military power.

These empires and kingdoms played critical roles in the political, economic, and cultural history of the region that is now Nigeria.

Whatever Ndị Igbo did with Nri Kingdom, Arochukwu Confederacy complemented it.

If not for the Yoruba invasion of Igodomigodo, Igbos would have solidified her Power on the Western Flanks of the River Niger.

This is one of the reasons why i respect Egypt, Ethipia, Syria and Greece. They've managed to maintain the name and the territory from then to now

Egypt was never conquered at any point despite threatning expansive wars from Greece and Mongollia

Shame on Babylon and Assyria that werent strong enough to resist those world powers

The territories once occupied by Assyria and Babylonia are part of modern-day Iraq, Syria, Turkey, and Iran.

The British conquered Egypt.

STOP talking thrash. The black man doesn't have history. He has no alphabetical means of writing, but only oral history which is not valid as it is corruptible.
Africa and indeed the blacks are useless and never contributed to the human development and advancements.
If in doubt, see Buhari and Tinubu, are they useful even with power given to them?
speak for yourself or your people if your people don't have any history and contributed to nothing in human development then accepted that and sit back to watch not degeneralized all Africans under this useless generalization based on merely skin color invented by racists Europeans to see Africans as one no matter how diverse they are.

Please don’t mind that ignorant dunce.

Black Africans INVENTED writing.

Hieroglyphs were the African writing system thousands of years ago, and it was from hieroglyphs that EVERY other writing system on Earth descended including Arabic, the Chinese script and Latin.

Do you know that even the number system of 1, 2, 3 up to 10 was invented by black African Moors?

The Moors were black West Africans who ruled most of Europe between 711 and 1492. Nearly 800 years.

It was the Moors that revived literacy in Europe after many centuries of stagnation following the collapse of Rome.

In fact in Europe today, there are statues of the Moors in public buildings etc, and festivals are held celebrating the Moorish past, where thousands of white people paint their faces black, and wear Moorish African costumes.

The Roman empire isn't just Italy but the entire Western Europe.. Italy isn't even Rome.. The Romans conquered Italy before its expansion. Italy, France, Portugal, Spain(Iberian), Belgium, Hungary, Poland, Austria, England, Britain, Greece and even your darling United States of America are all products of the Roman empire. And don't forget Constantinople before the Ottomans took over.

Thank you jare my brother.

Nigerians need to understand that Black Africans civilised the world.

They need to get rid of their colonial brainwashing which tells them they are inferior to white people.

They need to understand that it was their ancestors who civilized white people, Chinese people, Arabs, Indians, et al.

Ancient Egypt, ie KEMET, was the ''USA'' of the world for thousands of years UNINTERRUPTED.

People used to JAPA from Europe to go and school in KEMET where they were taught mathematics, medicine, architecture, geometry, astronomy, philosophy, religion, the sciences and the arts, by black African masters.

This was how the Romans depicted the Egyptians in their day:

Egypt was conquered by Alexander the Great of Macedonia and he named a city after himself called Alexandria, that city is still in Egypt till this day. The Romans also conquered and Ruled Egypt, don’t forget Augustus, Marc Antony and Cleopatra.

Alexander the Great of Greece, was Greek, from a region in Greece called Macedonia. Completely different from the Country called North Macedonia and formerly know as “Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM)”

Yes I know, the Firmer Yugoslav Republic of Mecedonia was compelled to change the name to the “The Republic of North Macedonia” because the Greeks in Macedonia region of Greece protested.

Are u kidding me? Egypt was conquered by the Romans, Cleopatra was d last monarch. Egypt was subjugated under d Roman empire then the Arabs came and conquered Egypt just after d death of Prophet Mohammed and Arabized d country. Then Egypt was conquered by d Ottomans and remained their vassal for hundreds of years till d British came and conquered Egypt from d Ottoman Turks. Only last century did Egypt finally get her independence since d time of Queen Cleopatra. So when u say Egypt was never conquered, u are so so wrong. They were not only conquered but almost completely Arabized, their national identity completely changed to that of their conquerors, d worst thing that can ever happen to a people.

Egypt's original name is Kemet. It was named Aegyptiakos by the Greek Empire after they annexed it. Only Syria and Ethiopia remain untamed and unchanged
