Dangote, Damina, Modi: How Tinubu Is Secretly Winning The War On Terror by Fresky232: 5:48am
Introduction:

Since President Bola Ahmed Tinubu assumed office in May 2023, tackling Nigeria’s deep-rooted insecurity—particularly banditry and insurgency—has been a primary focus of his administration. Through enhanced operational strategies, improved intelligence, and multinational cooperation, security forces have been able to neutralize several key leaders responsible for terror and mayhem across northern Nigeria.

This report chronicles the elimination of seven of the most notorious bandit warlords who met their demise since the renewed offensives began. Their deaths signify a step toward dismantling the terror networks that have destabilized the country for over a decade.

---

1. Baleri Fakai: Bello Turji’s Right-Hand Man

Baleri Fakai, a bandit commander infamous for orchestrating numerous attacks and abductions in Zamfara and neighboring states, was killed on September 16, 2024, in Maru, Zamfara state. Fakai was a close associate of Bello Turji, one of the most wanted bandit leaders still at large. Known for leading attacks against local communities and security forces, Fakai’s neutralization was a major victory for the Nigerian Security Operatives.

His death is expected to disrupt Turji’s operations, particularly in areas where Fakai led raids, including cattle rustling, kidnappings for ransom, and village massacres. Zamfara State Government, along with security officials, lauded the operation as a turning point in the ongoing offensive.

---

2. Halilu Buzu: The Foreign Terror Financier from Niger Republic

Halilu Buzu, a notorious bandit leader from Niger Republic, had been on Nigeria’s most-wanted list for arms smuggling and links to international terror organizations. Operating between Niger and Zamfara, Buzu often trafficked illegal weapons and drugs to fuel the bandit operations across northern Nigeria.

On September 12, 2024, he was killed in an operation in Dansadau forest, Zamfara state, following an intense shootout with Nigerian special forces. The Nigerian special forces recovered a large cache of arms, including AK-47 rifles, RPGs, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs). His death has been hailed as a significant blow to the cross-border criminal network facilitating banditry in northern Nigeria.

---

3. Ali Kachalla: Master of Destruction in Niger State

Ali Kachalla, widely feared for his ferocity and cruelty, was responsible for several high-profile attacks on Niger state’s communities, including the notorious 2022 massacre in Shiroro Local Government Area (LGA). Kachalla also orchestrated raids that targeted local farmers, leading to mass displacement of residents.

On December 12, 2023, Kachalla was killed in a Nigerian Air Force airstrike near his stronghold in the Kagara forest. His death marked a major win for Niger state, which has been grappling with escalating violence over the years. The successful targeting of Kachalla's hideout was made possible by improved intelligence-sharing between local hunters and the Nigerian Security Operatives.

---

4. ‘Dangote’: The Warlord of Katsina’s Forests

Dangote, another prominent bandit leader in Nigeria’s north-west, was eliminated in April 2024 after a bloody clash with a rival faction in the Dumburun forest, located near the Batsari and Jibia LGAs of Katsina state. Dangote and his two brothers, Lama Na Balewa and Usman Yellow, were killed in the crossfire.

His death weakened his group’s stronghold on kidnapping and cattle rustling activities in Katsina’s forests. Security analysts believe that internal strife within bandit networks is a growing trend, partly due to the pressure from sustained operational offensives under President Tinubu’s government.

---

5. Damina: The Ghost Commander of Zamfara

Damina, also known as "The Phantom Leader," had been a shadowy figure responsible for organizing high-profile kidnappings and assaults on security operatives outposts. Despite previous rumors of his death, it wasn’t until March 2024 that Nigerian secuity operatives confirmed his elimination in a clash in Shinkafi, Zamfara state.

Damina’s death came during an early morning raid by joint security forces. His group was known for terrorizing travelers and launching deadly ambushes along the Gusau-Sokoto highway. His elimination has brought a semblance of relief to communities that had long been under siege.

---

6. Usman Modi Modi: The Ruthless Bandit Leader in Katsina

Usman Modi Modi, better known as "Kartakwa," was the head of a powerful bandit group operating out of Katsina’s forests. Modi Modi, along with several of his lieutenants, was killed in May 2024 after a fierce gun battle with security forces.

Modi Modi’s group had been responsible for multiple large-scale abductions, including the kidnapping of schoolchildren and villagers for ransom. His demise was a crucial victory for Katsina’s anti-banditry campaign, significantly reducing the group’s influence in the area.

---

7. Yellow Jambros: A Key Player in Kaduna’s Banditry Network

Yellow Jambros, a dangerous bandit leader in Kaduna state, was neutralized in late 2023 by a coordinated airstrike from the Nigerian Air Force. Jambros had been involved in various violent attacks on villages and police stations in Kaduna and surrounding states.

The airstrike that killed Jambros came after weeks of reconnaissance missions and intelligence-gathering, leading to his location near the Jikudna river. His death destabilized his faction and dealt a significant blow to the bandit groups in Kaduna, an area that had seen an uptick in kidnappings and armed robbery.

---

Other Noteworthy Operations:

In addition to these seven bandit leaders, the Nigeria Police Force & the Nigerian Military has conducted multiple successful operations across Zamfara, Katsina, and Niger states. Operations like "Hadarin Daji" and "Whirl Punch" have been particularly effective, leading to the recovery of hundreds of hostages and the destruction of numerous bandit camps.

With the deployment of more advanced technology, such as drones and real-time satellite surveillance, the Nigerian Security Forces have increased their precision in targeting bandit hideouts. Collaboration with regional security forces from neighboring countries like Niger and Chad has also been key in addressing cross-border criminal activities.

---

Reinforcements and Operational Strategy:

President Tinubu’s administration has reinforced security measures in the North-West and North-Central regions by deploying additional troops and acquiring more sophisticated equipment. The administration has also emphasized community involvement, enlisting local vigilante groups to assist with intelligence gathering and combat operations.

---

Conclusion:

The deaths of these seven notorious bandit warlords signify critical victories in Nigeria’s ongoing battle against terrorism and banditry. While these operations have dealt significant blows to the terror networks, the government and security operatives must remain vigilant. A sustained, multipronged approach that includes police, military, social, and economic interventions is crucial to achieving long-term peace and stability in the affected regions.

---

Recommendations:
- Increase Aerial Surveillance: Maintaining air superiority and expanding drone surveillance in bandit-infested areas will be crucial for detecting and neutralizing threats.
- Bolster Community Policing: Enhancing collaboration between the military and local communities can improve intelligence-gathering efforts.
- Address Socioeconomic Roots of Banditry: Implementing economic empowerment programs in rural communities will help reduce the recruitment of young men into bandit networks.
- Secure Borders:
Intensifying efforts to secure Nigeria’s northern borders will prevent the infiltration of foreign bandits and the smuggling of illegal weapons.

The NNPC is a clandestine agency that is shrouded in mystery, sorcery, and devilry.

That company is the final boss of evil in this country.
You have said nothing but the truth.
The question is 'who are these evil petroleum cabals'?
We know they are powerful enemies of the country that rather prefer the country to burn down rather than the prices of petrol to go low.
We are not even sure if the president can beat these people or get them arrested or something.

The only all of us at MANNA going to advice the President to do is to give us adequate power all over the country, both rural villages, towns and cities, more like 24 hours power supply.
If that is done, and nobody really needs fuel for anything apart from some little emergencies, then thr prices for fuel ⛽️ will go down even of the cabals are not happy with it.

This country will work in our lifetime.
God bless Nigeria 🇳🇬

Yes ,Tinubu is winning the war on terror . Simple as ABC .

Have you observed that propagandists and bitter trolls will share or post bandits making threats on Tik Tok or wrecking havoc to communities but they are silent about our gallant military successes?

The military should intensify their efforts against bandits .

Nigeria is also moving from consumption and importing economy to production and exporting economy .

The most important problem Tinubu government is facing is hyperinflation(which other countries complain of as well but we can emulate countries that don't have such problems.) .

If only our currency can be stable and price of goods in the market becomes stable .

For a soldier who reads this, more wins to the military!

However, be fair and just in your operations. The rules of engagement in Southern Nigeria and those of the North should be the same.

Stop destroying an entire community in the South for the wrongdoings of a few miscreants - something you guys don't do in the North.

There's a part of the War BAT isn't winning and unfortunately that part is very important. Go after the financiers, the ones that sit in the comfort of their mansions and transfer funds to them in the field. Until those are arrested and prosecuted, we are just going around in a circle.

Yes, once killing is the major offensive rather than arrest, the results will soon be too positive. keeping them in prisons is another major threat.

The good part is that Tinubu won't be feeding and releasing repentant terrorists and bandits like Buhari, the Special Forces new strategy is to send them to receive their 72 virgins over there. I watched them giving head shots to captured bandits in front of a cheering crowd in Katsina posted here recently
