Three Things You Need To Know About A Cv. by AdonisIbira01(m): 1:03pm On Sep 23 |
When it comes to job searching, one of the most important documents is your CV. This is the document employers use to determine if you're fit for the position. The employer doesn't know you; they have never met you before, nor have they thought of you. But your CV gives them an insight into who you are. Therefore, the work of a CV is to sell you. So, the Three things to know are as follows: 1. Tailor your CV to suit the job you're applying for. From the job description, you can get an idea of what the employer wants, then tailor your CV to meet the requirements. 2. Have achievements in your CV. When you have candidates with similar work experience, what differentiates them is their achievements. Ensure they are quantifiable in figures or percentages. 3. Professional summary (summary of who you are). The mistake people make is that they usually come up with something generic, like; "I am hardworking, motivated, and the rest." Make it professional by highlighting and summarizing your skill set. For example, this is a personal summary of one applying for a role in human resource management: "I have 12 years of experience, I am experienced in recruitment, training, performance management, labor laws, and public relations." If you want to stand out, you can highlight some of the skills mentioned in the job description. In my next post, I will be discussing a part from my book" Titled the psychology of winning an interview |
