Your neighbour can be your lifesaver one night...I've saved a neighbour's life, I wouldn't if she was a wicked person..we should think about the choices we make, you can be strict person but not wicked.... Those big generating sets don't blow up appliances. They have a circuit breaker that trips off when the voltage goes haywire.

Furthermore, the prices of those big generators have gone over the roof.. The one that would pick your AC and fridge shouldn't cost less than 400k.

I doubt if someone with such financial strength would rent a house in the type of compund that she described.

Dey play! Go and tap person generator... You go understand. Na just to rev the engine or increase the AVR.... Of course, they would have already disconnected their own flat. So all the current just went into the neighbours appliances before it could be stabilised....

Except the gen is having a faulty AVR, it won't give excessive current to any appliances.
No be I better pass my neighbour we dey talk about.
Increasing the output doesn't mean it will supply excessive current, but to accommodate higher load, eg, you want to use your AC, Pumping machine and Iron on the gen simultaneously, even if you unplugged the 3 appliances and leave only the bulbs or your phone charger, the gen won't supply excess current to the bulbs or phone chargers that are still connected

You might not have a full grasp of the science behind this.

From experience, why does incandescent bulbs becomes brighter when generator is running on less load compared to on full load. This is not easily noticeable on LED lights.

Yes, it is possible for the voltage not to exceed 230volts, however, you cannot say same for current. Voltage and current are fed differently.

You are correct. Increasing the engine torque does not increase the voltage supply which is already regulated by capacitor irrespective anyways

In my own case, there was a time I had a big Gen (this Thermocool BigBoy).

Neighbour 1's gen caught fire, so everybody rushed out to quench the fire, infact, the wife rushed out with wrapper and water all over her body. So I felt, I should help them. I connected their wire to mine and that's how they refused to repair their gen or buy new one for like a month, till I stopped connecting. Meanwhile, the man dey build house and bought tokunboh Camry, wey me wey dey give them free light never buy.

Neighbour 2 just moved in and had no gen, so out of my kind heart (e dey affect me to see other people suffer, na why I never rich till now, gave out all my resources and I have learnt the hard way). Started connecting their lights for months. Not knowing the guy just dey code. He get good job (well-paying), kept his gen/car with his friend but I still continued to give him free light from my gen till he stopped to dey even pay for Nepa light, expecting me to go and pay it. So I stopped giving him light.
Moral is... I did my own help out of the kindness of my heart but I discovered that a lot of people are not worth helping. I have learnt to stop being unnecessarily kind because when the helper will need help, he will hardly get it.
