You re not serious, 33k last year is far more valuable than 77k as of today

19,500 naira nysc allowance in 2015 when I served was valuable than the 33,000k and 77,000k now. Dollar to naira exchange under goodluck Jonathan in 2015 was exchanging at ratio 1$ to 145 to 160 naira, so 19,500 naira alawee was about 120$, which will worth almost 200k now in t-pain government.

Nigeria a country where corp members earn minimum wage and most members, post-nysc earn LESS THAN minimum wage.

Its pathetic and disgraceful.

Its supposed to be - to earn 77k as corp member and above that after nysc even if na 78k

Not earn 77k as corp member and earn 25k after the nysc thingy.

Some of you making illustrations of how 33k of last year is better that 77k this year, you're all jokers

I know economy is bad, but these youth corpers have been managing their 33k since January, and the wise ones have been saving from it, while the extravagant ones will spend theirs within 2days of getting alert from FG.

Now the FG in their benevolence have increased it to 77k, why won't corpera save money from it?

It's their money anyways, IF YOU LIKE SAVE, IT YOU LIKE FINISH THE 77K ON GIRLS AND ALCHOHOL, AFTER 1YR, FG go comot hand, you won't even see 1naira, na that time you go know say kaki fit be leather sometimes
You no well
Do you think it's the 33k that was sustaining them?
How do you save from something that's not enough for you for a month?
Some people spend above 1k daily to and fro their PPA on transport, add it to feeding, you will realize that 5k might not even be enough for a day.

Going to camp in Kogi state and coming back caused me almost 400k

Those who think 77k today is worth the same with last year's 33k must be sniffing what Tinubu paid $460,000 to escape jail.

Festus Keyamo Defends Tinubu From Drug Trafficking, Says Tinubu Mistakenly Shared Flats With Drug Lords

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr Festus Keyamo, has distanced the All Progressive Congress presidential candidata, Bola Tinubu, from being a drug baron who was involved in the traffic of narcotics in the United States.

Keyamo, who also doubles as APC Presidential Campaign spokesperson, noted that the former governor of Lagos State only shared a block of flat with drug barons about 30 years ago in the US.

His reaction is coming following documents of a Chicago District Court indicting and convicting Tinubu of drug dealings and money laundering in 1993.

The document which emerged online two days ago, described APC standard-bearer as a drug baron, adding that Tinubu entered a plea bargain, leading to the forfeiture of his assets to US authorities in 1993

It was also pointed out that Tinubu forfeited the sum of $460, 000 dollars in his bank account at First Heritage Bank to the US government.

Speaking on Wednesday on Channels TV, Mr Keyamo dismissed such claims, insisting that Tinubu was linked to drug peddlers who were his neighbours.

He said: “What happened was that Tinubu went to open an account. The address which he used in opening the account was the address used by these people. I think some blocks of flats. Maybe, he was happy to be in that block of flats too.

“So, they now link it that the other people they were investigating for narcotics are in the same address used by Asiwaju to open that account.’’

I always knew NYSC allowance would be N77,000 and not N70,000, but I am surprised that a lot of serving corpers did not know how much they were going to pay them.

NYSC allowance is usually Minimum Wage + 10% of Minimum Wage. When Minimum Wage was N18,000, 10% of it is N1,800. Hence, NYSC was paid N19,800. When Minimum Wage was N30,000, 10% of it is N3,000. Hence, NYSC was paid N33,000. Now that Minimum Wage is N70,000, 10% of it is N7,000. Hence NYSC will be paid N77,000.

Naira keeps depreciating every day, very soon petrol will hit 2k a litre will this ease the suffering. We don't need this peanut and palliatives, make petrol affordable let the price of foodstuffs come down so people can afford to feed

If you are using petrol for just what you need it for,you would be able to afford it......it seems you are the only one crying about not being able to afford foodstuffs.....

Govt has increased minimum wage
Govt has increased youth corp allowance
Govt has introduced CNG conversion at subsidised rates
Govt as removed tariff from major food imports.

Yet you are still complaining about not being able to feed......keep complaining govt will bring food to your table.

2000 naira salary your dad earned as salary in the 80s is still more valuable than 2m today

May it interest you to know that....7,500 in 2004 was worth more than 75k today because the country had far less debt to service.

exchange rate was lower.

oil production was over 2m barrels per day compared to 1.2m during Buhari and 1.7m now.

The naira was being heavily defended by govt which was a policy that continued till tinubu stopped it as it was becoming a huge drain on the economy.

We had far less export and appetite for foreign goods.

All this factors all culminated in the lacuna we have now in the economy,we didn't get here overnight, the bad economic decisions we made for decades is what we are all suffering now....how can govt expenditure exceed revenue and we had been like this since yar adua

A confused government

Why not leave salaries and figures low

Person wey see 77k will think that there is an increase in purchasing power.

A bag of rice is now above 90k

Why not leave prices, salaries and figures low?

Then you start screaming that people can't feed and NLC should go on strike for wage increment......the same reason why interest rates have to go up to surpass inflation is also same reason why wages need to move up to keep with inflation.
