Businessman kidnapped in Osun

Some fuel station have remained shut since Friday in Ile-Ife and Osogbo, Osun State.

Reason: They are protesting the kidnap on Thursday last week of the Osun State Chairman of the Independent Petrol Marketers Association,Mr Poppola Ogundoyin.

Ogundoyin was said to have been abducted by four young men, who waylaid him in the front of his house in the More area of Ile-Ife, when he was returning from work.
The men were said to have crossed his Toyota Camry car with a Golf car that they came in. They forced him into their car, while they abandoned his Toyota Camry and sped off It was learnt that his abductors, whose number could not be ascertained, were armed with guns and other dangerous weapons.

According to a source, the abductors did not remove any item from his car, including the money he kept in it.

The source added that since the kidnap, nothing has been heard from Ogundoyin’s abductors, which made his family members and business associates to be worried about his safety.

The refusal of petrol stations to sell fuel has forced most motorists to travel long distances before they can get fuel for their vehicle
