EVANS PRODUCTION SERVICE MANAGER, E-LIBRARIAN TO HEADLINE IBADAN BOOK PUBLISHING WORKSHOP

The upcoming Ibadan Book Publishing Workshop is set to feature two prominent figures in the publishing industry: Mr. Akinnuoye Tunde, Production Service Manager of Evans Publishers, and Mr. Fadele Olusola Daniel, Head of the eLibrary Section at The Polytechnic, Ibadan. This workshop, scheduled for Saturday, September 28, 2024, promises to be an invaluable experience for aspiring authors, editors, and literary enthusiasts.

Taking place at the Oyo State Library Board premises, opposite Cocoa House, Dugbe, Ibadan, the workshop will commence at 12 PM. The event is free of charge, making it accessible for all who wish to enhance their understanding of the publishing process. It aims to bridge the knowledge gap that many face within the Nigerian publishing industry, providing essential insights and practical tools for participants.

Wole Adedoyin, founder of the Ibadan Book Club and President of the Milton Society of Africa, announced the workshop, emphasizing the critical need for such initiatives. "This workshop is designed to empower emerging authors and literary practitioners with the tools they need to succeed," he stated, highlighting the struggles that many budding writers encounter in navigating the complexities of book publishing in Nigeria.

Mr. Akinnuoye Tunde brings over three decades of experience in book development and production. With a BA in Publishing and currently pursuing an MCA, Tunde has a robust foundation in print media. His professional journey includes roles such as Production Planning Officer at Academy Press and Senior Production Manager at Regent Printing and Publishing. Currently, as the Production Service Manager at Evans Publishers, he applies his extensive knowledge to promote excellence in the publishing industry.

Joining Tunde is Mr. Fadele Olusola Daniel, an esteemed e-librarian known for his significant contributions to digital library management at The Polytechnic, Ibadan. His leadership in enhancing the eLibrary services has greatly facilitated access to digital resources for both students and staff. Daniel’s role in integrating modern technology into academic resources makes him a pivotal figure in the transformation of educational services at the Polytechnic.

The workshop will cover a range of critical topics aimed at equipping participants with essential skills. Sessions will include "Introduction to Book Publishing," "Manuscript Development and Editing," and "Developmental Editing, Copyediting, and Proofreading," among others.
