MILTON SOCIETY OF AFRICA SET TO HOLD ONE-DAY FREE PUBLISHING WORKSHOP ON SATURDAY

Following the success of the Ibadan Book Review Workshop and the Sensitization Workshop on Legal Deposit, ISBN, and ISSN, the Milton Society of Africa (MSA), in collaboration with the Ibadan Book Club, is preparing to host another transformative event.

On Saturday, September 28, 2024, a one-day free book publishing workshop will take place at the Oyo State Library Board, opposite Cocoa House, Dugbe, Ibadan.

The event will start at 12 PM and is designed to provide valuable insights to aspiring authors, editors, and literary enthusiasts.

Two seasoned professionals, Mr. Akinnuoye Tunde and Mr. Fadele Olusola Daniel, will serve as the guest lecturers for the workshop. Their extensive experience in the publishing industry promises to offer participants a deep dive into the intricacies of book production, editing, and digital publishing.

Mr. Akinnuoye Tunde is a highly experienced figure in the world of book development and production. With a BA in Publishing and ongoing studies towards an MCA, Tunde’s expertise spans over three decades. He began his career as a Production Planning Officer at Academy Press, Lagos, in 1985 and has held significant roles, including Head of Production at Minaj Prints and General Manager of Production at Zacch & Chrome. Currently, he serves as the Production Service Manager at Evans Publishers in Ibadan, where he continues to apply his deep knowledge in print media, focusing on book production and publishing processes.

Mr. Fadele Olusola Daniel, the Head of the eLibrary section at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, will share his vast knowledge of digital library management and the book publishing process. With a career devoted to advancing digital access to resources, he has become a pivotal figure in promoting eLibrary services, helping both students and staff at The Polytechnic to access vital academic materials seamlessly. His contribution to the workshop will focus on emerging trends in the digital publishing landscape.

Wole Adedoyin, the founder of Ibadan Book Club and President of the Milton Society of Africa, made this announcement in a press statement. He stressed the importance of the workshop in helping aspiring writers navigate the complex world of publishing. According to Adedoyin, the event aims to bridge the knowledge gap in the Nigerian literary industry, which is crucial for budding writers looking to successfully publish their works.
