We Africans are a confused lots, the Europeans have completely distorted our identity and self worth, 80% of Africans are one leg in Orthodox religions and one leg into afro- traditional religions too, i once lived in benin city way back and witnessed one of the most mind blowing events when my landlord on his way to church and apparently forgot to pay homage to his deity came back home with the bible still in his hands and was sprinkling red oil on the shrine while chantings at the corridor of his apartment

Must have been poisoned during harvesting. Remember killer beans,?

I heard the beans sellers actually use SNIPER to preserve beans... I have seen Hausa men preserving oranges inside gutter. Isn't that even enough to kill someone with a weak immune system?

Only God knows what truly happened but I suspect the beans must have been a poisoned batch cos the people selling food stuff and groceries to us in Nigeria are usually illiterates.

NAFDAC must be involved and trace the batch of beans they bought so that others elsewhere won't die.

May the Lord bless the soul of the dead ones but seriously even the whole prayer warriors in their hundreds didn't even foresee the harvest of death on the door step of the church, I thought this white garment churches were famous for doing exactly that, conclusively the Almighty God is actually the one that sees tomorrow and we mere mortals are only speculators of the power of seeing

May God forgive you... You don't know what may befall you tomorrow, so don't mock people stylishly. No pastor is God to know everything that will happen tomorrow. Stop the mockery!

Food poisoning, which is usually unintentional.
Maybe from poor cooking and handling techniques.

May the departed rest in peace.

My heartfelt sympathy to the church.
Tough times… embarassed
I think the problem should be from the beans
Maybe it's the preservative

It is usually caused by salmonella bacteria. This is why it is important to heat food before eating[Quote author=ItisWell22 post=132210811]Food poisoning, which is usually unintentional.

IPESE do not necessarily translated to ritual."ipese" in Yoruba means gathering of people or Retreat a kind of annual event.on any case, you cannot rule out error where there's a mixture of traditional religion with modern religion, the gathering which we called ECUMENISM.

It must have been poisoned during perversion.
Some people preserve beans with sniper which is very dangerous

I agree. Most likely individuals cooked and brought food ... very possible that the victims ate from the sniper beans pot ...the reason all were not affected. But then the hospital should know it was a case of food poisoning. if most were treated and discharged..then what were they treated for? But then I am always wary of the involvement of the WHO ....why are they involved in this local event?..so fast? I would not rule out they having a hand in this.

So love feast na beans? Anyways what I don't understand is this. How were they able to treat some without proper diagnosis? Because if they did, they would have known the cause of the sickness by now. I no understand this story at all. Or do u treat what u don't know
Re: 5 Die, Scores Hospitalised After Eating ‘love Feast’ In Oyo Church by meobizy(f): 2:58pm On Sep 29
Helping the poor is always problematic. Feed them and get arrested if poisoning occurs. Give them money and they anchor all their responsibilities down on you, trying to turn one kind gesture into a lifetime burden. Avoid them and they’ll mock you, claiming that you’ve hoarded both yours and their blessings.

Obviously they are the ones killing people... I was still complaining about how I don't eat fruits enough, but with all these, I think I might just stick to my multivitamins.

May God help us.
