It's Political Assassination – Russia Condemns Israel's Killing Of Hezbollah Leader, Nasrallah

The Russian Federation has condemned Israel's killing of Hezbollah leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah in the Lebanese capital Beirut, describing it as "yet another political assassination."

In a statement issued on Saturday by foreign ministry, it stated that "this forceful action is fraught with even greater dramatic consequences for Lebanon and the entire Middle East."

"The Israeli side could not fail to recognise this danger, but took the step of killing Lebanese citizens, which would almost inevitably provoke a new outburst of violence. Thus, it bears full responsibility for the subsequent escalation," RT quoted the ministry as said.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had told a UN Security Council meeting on Friday that Israel’s actions in Lebanon only create a “spiral of violence” and risk plunging the entire Middle East into a new bloody conflict.

On Saturday, SaharaReporters reported that Israel announced the killing of group’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah in the attack. Later Hezbollah confirmed the killing of their leader in a media statement.

Israel’s strikes “blatantly violate the sovereignty of… Lebanon,” Lavrov said in his remarks. “Indiscriminate attacks that lead to civilian casualties are absolutely unacceptable.”

The Russian minister also called for an “immediately stop” to the “spiral of violence” before the situation gets out of hand. He also stated that Israel would not be able to achieve its stated goals with such attacks.

“The path of war chosen by the West Jerusalem will not help it bring internally displaced people to the north of the country and will not bring security to the Israeli-Lebanese border area,” he said, adding that Israel failed to achieve its goals in the 2006 Lebanon war despite using “cutting-edge equipment and weapons.”

The Israeli bombings have already killed at least 558 people in Lebanon, including 50 children and 94 women, Lavrov said, adding that more than 1,600 were injured and “tens of thousands had to leave their homes.”

Israel and Hezbollah have sporadically exchanged fire over the past year as the latter had supported the Palestinian cause in light of West Jerusalem's military operation against Hamas.

Being a so-called Lebanese citizen is not a licensor to freely lob rockets into another country.

Understatement!

That’s terrorism!

If Iraq should assassinate Ex President Bush in the US for his war crimes that were built on lies, the US will call it terrorism. But when they do it, it is self defense.

I am so just happy I am in a generation and time where people are getting more enlightened about the colonialist mindset of the west.

See a mass murderer condemning a single assassin.

Just like the Nigeria government is going about seeking a 2 state solution between Israel and Palestinian when all the time the fire in their roof top has been burning for more than 57 years.

I'm gonna bet $10,000 that russian disinformation elements have emailed fake pastor olaadegbu to pay him in furtherance of spreading pro-russia sentiments on this board.

Do you think fake pastor olaadegbu does this for free?

Israeli Military Forces Confirm Killing Of Hamas Leader, Yahya Sinwar In Recent Attack In Gaza

October 17, 2024
News

The Israeli Army has confirmed the killing of Hamas leader, Yahya Sinwar, in a recent attack on Gaza.

This was widely reported by Israeli media platforms making reference to senior military officials in the country.

It was gathered that the Israeli government had commenced investigating whether Sinwar was killed in a ground operation by the IDF which left three terrorists dead, with official confirmation expected in the coming hours.

In his recent post on X, Israeli defence minister Yoav Gallant wrote, "We will reach every terrorist - and eliminate him," adding that soon after "our enemies cannot hide."

Gallant attached a photograph with a red cross over a blank slot - seemingly referencing Sinwar - between Hamas commander Muhammad Daf and Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah, each of whom were assassinated this year and were also crossed out.

Senior Israeli officials said security sources consider there to be a 'high probability' that Sinwar was eliminated, Israeli news outlet N12 reports, though reports have still not been confirmed.

It comes as graphic images have circulated online purporting to show the body of the terrorist leader.

The grim pictures show what appears to be a corpse resembling Sinwar lying on a pile of rubble, with a catastrophic head wound and injuries all over his body.

Israel's Defence Forces said in a statement: "During an activity by IDF fighters in the Gaza Strip, three terrorists were killed.

"The IDF and Shin Bet are investigating the possibility that one of the terrorists is Yahya Sinwar. At this stage, the identity of the terrorists cannot be confirmed."

The statement went on, "In the building where the terrorists were killed, no signs of the presence of abductees were found in the area.

"The IDF and Shin Bet forces operating in the area continue to operate under the necessary caution."

Israel said its ground forces had identified a group of terrorists in a building in an unknown location in Gaza, fired at them, and then an exchange of fire began.

The force entered the building and saw that one of the terrorists resembled Sinwar, according to reports.

The man's corpse is now reportedly being examined with DNA and dental tests to ascertain whether it does belong to the Hamas leader.

While there has not yet been any official confirmation, officials told Israeli media that Sinwar was eliminated, Reuters reports.

Hezbollah Appoints Naim Kassem As New Leader Following Killing Of Hassan Nasrallah By Israeli Forces

October 29, 2024
News

Lebanon’s Hezbollah militant group has appointed Naim Kassem as the new leader following the death of Hassan Nasrallah, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike last month.

Kassem, previously Nasrallah’s longtime deputy, has acted as the group’s leader since Nasrallah’s death, with his official appointment confirmed on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, an Israeli strike in northern Gaza targeted a five-story building sheltering displaced Palestinians, killing at least 34 people, over half of whom were women and children, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry, AP reports.

Emergency services reported an additional 20 people were wounded in the strike in Beit Lahiya, near the Israeli border.

There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military, which has conducted operations in the area for more than three weeks, focusing on Hamas militants it says have regrouped there.

The victims reportedly included a mother and her five children, as well as another mother and her six children. Dr. Hossam Abu Safiya, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, stated the facility was overwhelmed with casualties from the strike.

The hospital was raided by Israeli forces over the weekend, during which several medics were detained.

Israel’s military claims to target militants precisely to avoid civilian casualties, although strikes in recent months have often resulted in the deaths of women and children.

In a recent operation, the military detained Hamas members at Kamal Adwan Hospital, adding to a series of raids on medical facilities.

Israeli operations in northern Gaza, particularly in the Jabaliya refugee camp, have resulted in hundreds of deaths and large-scale displacement of civilians.

Amid these events, Israel has significantly restricted aid to Gaza’s north, drawing a warning from the United States about potential reductions in military aid if humanitarian access is not improved.

Palestinian fears of a proposed evacuation plan are rising. While Israel’s military denies any intent to carry out such a plan, its government has yet to clarify its stance.

On Monday, Israel’s parliament passed laws potentially limiting the operations of UNRWA, the United Nations agency that provides aid to Palestinian refugees, amid claims of Hamas involvement—an accusation UNRWA denies.

The war began when Hamas militants attacked Israel on 7 October 2023, killing approximately 1,200 people and abducting around 250.

Local authorities report that over 43,000 Palestinians have since died, with 90% of Gaza’s population displaced.
