I have no more empathy for Nigerians

Sure...everyone should just sit at home miserable, or be protesting on the streets.

Negative-minded sadist.

Narrow minded people like you. What is wrong if Calabar set the pace and others follow?

Is there any city in the world that have it all?
Mind you Calabar did not even set the pace for carnivals in Nigeria, Donald Duke the then governor of Cross River only pumped money into the festival that now made it popular.

The is the type of comment from people like you that caused dis unity in Nigeria.
If that is the line you want to toil then you should give praises to Brazil that set the pace for the whole world including Calabar when it comes to carnivals.

Be calming down, other cultures also have theirs even before Calabar carnival started, New Yam festival by Igbos, Ojude Oba in Ijebu, Fishing festival by Kanuri or so, are examples of carnival. Lagos do have Eyo festival also, although I don't know why it's no longer held.
Dey no dey arrest late comers.

At one point, it became imperative for the Lagos State government to suspend the annual celebration of the Eyo festival because some hoodlums were hiding under it to perpetrate violence and crime. The Eyo festival will return very soon.

Calabar carnival is not the first but it set the standard of glamorous, gilt, beauty and spectacular carnival, like it is done overseas.
