Renowned cleric Sheikh Abdurrahman Azzamfari has accused politicians of perpetuating insecurity in Zamfara State, while praising Minister of State for Defence Dr. Bello Muhammed Matawalle and Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher G. Musa's anti-banditry efforts.

At a public lecture, Azzamfari described those fueling violence as "enemies of the people" driven by selfish interests, ignorance, and politics. He likened the situation to "two elephants fighting, while the grass suffers," emphasizing that Zamfara citizens are the ultimate victims.

Azzamfari described the insecurity as complex, fueled by personal gain, politics, and illiteracy. "Some politicians don't want insecurity to end, as it would harm their interests and income. They'd rather see everyone suffer," he stated.

The cleric praised Matawalle and Musa's commitment to restoring peace, noting they've become targets of those opposed to peace. "These leaders are working tirelessly, but some individuals don't want their efforts to succeed," he said.

Azzamfari urged believers to include Matawalle and Musa in their prayers, seeking divine intervention to overcome opposing evil forces. He emphasized unity in supporting genuine efforts to end banditry, condemning those undermining initiatives for personal gain.

Zamfara continues to grapple with banditry, kidnappings, and security challenges. Matawalle has called for collaboration with neighboring states and local communities.

The federal government has reassured citizens of its commitment to ending insecurity.

Azzamfari's words highlight the need for collective action and support for peace efforts.

Details of the ongoing anti-banditry operations will be provided as more information becomes available.
