Local government election in Nigeria is just for formality, what is the difference with an LG caretaker and what these governors are calling election?

I will prefer I even save money and appoint care takers that I know will work for the people than doing election that some people will still rig their way in and cheat the people...

You talked about Sowore getting corrupt if he starts from a small office then you I don't think you even know what leadership traits are( sorry to say)....

If he can get corrupt from a smaller office, you think he will not get corrupt as president, have you heard the saying : he who is faithful in little will be faithful in much, some people don't just know how serious that statement is...

And I've seen you fall into that category, why I don't keep too many friends is because I study people from the little time I spend with them in the first meetings and I observe how the person handles the little thing around himself and things we may do together.

From there I'm already drawing my lines on the kind of friendship we will have.

This is not being judgmental, maybe that's just the way I am...

I don't know when you were born but over the years of my life I have learnt a lot when it comes to human beings and character, I'm not saying I might be 100 percent perfect in reading human beings and their character but I have seen a lot.

If you were old enough during Adams Oshiomhole as NLC president, you will wish he became president of Nigeria, I can tell you for a fact that no person fought the government the way Adams fought OBJ since 1999 till now...

He held the entire country down, he was fighting for the masses, it was so tough that some people were getting tired of the strikes, he insisted that he will keep fighting for the masses...

At the time I believe OBJ may have tried bribing him with billions which he rejected, the money did not move him, because OBJ was also very stubborn with his stand on his policies and always wanted to have his way...

Fast forward to when he became governor, what would have happened to a man who may have rejected billions to stand for the masses that later told a poor woman to go and die and look at what he has turned to today?

What happened?

Power

Power corrupted him, today look at him, there is none of Sowore's protest that is even quarter of that of Adams...

Personally I know Sowore may have rejected so many bribes to the tune of billions and if so I respect him for that, but power is different from money.

Another issue is management, does he really have good managerial skills?

It is not enough to just be an activist, Mugabe was also an activist who became president and ran down Zimbabwe and also became almost a life time president...

What happened?

Power

That's why I don't still trust Sowore, I'm not saying Peter Obi is a saint but compared to the major politicians right now, he is miles ahead of them ..

I see Peter Obi as a reversal from these trend APC has set....

He is not a saint but he is a break from the norm of what APC is doing and from there we can keep refining the leadership after him...

Let Sowore try a lower position, let us watch him and what he will do with power, if he is faithful there he will most likely be faithful for presidency...

As for Wike, please don't even bring him into the discussion, I've never really liked him, how do you guys see these type of politicians as people you can support?

I was busy shouting all over Nairaland that Tinubu is a worse tyrant than Buhari and a lot of you thought I was just being political, how you guys don't see it is what I still get surprised about...

I'm telling you and now that Wike is a worse tyrant than Tinubu, you think you've seen tyranny under Tinubu?

The man is a complete fraud, I'm still saying it here, the same way I talked about Tinubu, that's why they can work together, can't you guys see?

The problem with you guys is you guys don't know how to measure performance based on states and the resources the states have before the governors came in and what they left after office...

Wike is a complete fraud just like Tinubu, I tried explaining to someone here that kept on saying Tinubu did so much in Lagos, I explained the Lagos scam to him....

To People like Tinubu and Wike, politics comes first before governance, can't you guys see it?

States like Lagos and Port-harcort are highly invested states especially Lagos so if you compare the performance based on what they display as projects, you will be mislead....

It is like rating a driver the best because he is given a Ferrari to compete with others given Camry and Corolla in a car race because he won based on speed...

The problem here is Nigeria is not like a Ferrari, Nigeria is like a trailer, you don't need just speed, you need serious experience and patience, that is why Tinubu is failing at the federal level, same reason Fashola failed as minister, same reason, Cardoso, Wale Edun and co are failing too...

That's why I shout the Lagos scam, some of you don't really understand...

If Sowore can do even LG chairman for 4 years, let us see his handwork, If he does well, I'm telling you a lot of Nigerians will throw support for him.
I stopped reading when u said, LG election is jst formalities... And u are calling nyesom wike a fraudulent person grin

Ghana is currently protesting and there is no intimidation of any kind.....

Protest is for the people to air their thoughts about the policies of the government....

But in Nigeria, if you protest, Tinubu will say you committed treason.

Kenya never arrested any youth for protesting....

If Nigeria was in Kenya's situation, the country wouldn't have survived it as there'd have been a civil war breakout.

Oga nobody is against protest, Freedom of association is a constitutional right. Tell them to be peaceful. They shouldn't loot or coherse people who are unwilling to join. They shouldn't destroy public and private properties

I don't need to argue with you, do you know why ?

Time will reveal it to you, you can check my past posts on nairaland, just type brendaniel Tinubu and see if time is not revealing most things I said about him....

The LGA elections in Nigeria are all handpicked by the governors, there is nothing serious in it, it's just like appointment reason why the governors parties sweeps all the seats....

I think you guys mumu ehn, many of you guys always claim that the igbos are not suffering and you won't come out for protest, that Hausa and yorubas should be protesting ooo. So what concern you with the protest that you and your tribe refuse to join?. How could tinubu be sponsoring protest against himself?

1) we never said we are not suffering
We are just used to it and know how to cope

2) we knew this was a Tinubu sponsored protest... When Nigerians are ready to protest we would know

All these demands sef.

The issue with the country now is fuel price. Finish.
Re: October Protest Organisers Release List Of Demands, Seek Police Protection by Ejonginfo: 2:13pm On Sep 30
I will emphasise again that these will be peaceful protests, as they’ve always been
I have doubt here sir.
Even if you know that protest has never been peaceful in Nigeria you are still saying this?
With this alone I don't think any well thinking Nigerian would like to join in this protest.
Or
Could it be you or your family, friends or your relatives were not victims from the looting during the last protest? Or you just pretend nothing like that happened?
If you are calling out others to join you in the protest, first put your children and your entire household in front , then we will follow you.
Nobody including me here is happy the way things are turning out in the country, all we need now is prayer for God's help, and we have to be patience to archive that.

Okay, also use this energy to visit those politicians that are paying you to defend them online that they should stop paying hoodlums to upturned a peaceful protest to a violent one....

Must you LIE to communicate TRUTH? Which one is Kenya didn't arrest any youth? Did you even know how many people were killed in that protest?

As much as we condemn police brutality in all it's ramifications but we must also admit our "overdo-ness" (like the recent carnage and looting we saw in the North) which allowed our unprofessional police force to step in and mis-manage the situation too!!

Those are paid hoodlums.... They were paid by the politicians and not part of the protesters who planned a peaceful protest.

This has always been the case. Whenever the people notify the government of a protest, the government counter-plan the protest with hoodlums.

They will succeed one day and they will pass into law that protest is forbidden and when that time comes, me and you will suffer it.

Keep defending the government!!

Somehow you dodged the Kenya question abi? We're good on that!

Anyway Truth will never find it's footing on putrid LIES bro!

From your lies that I exposed, you've now morphed into presenting my submission inacurately abi? Where did you see me defending the government on this issue! I only presented two sides of the story, highlighting a factor that could prop our unprofessional and trigger happy cops to get in the scene. Is it so hard to comprehend? Nawao

Keep lying!

So you think Tinubu wouldn't look for ways to use the protests in his favour after the August protests?

Please I'm not defending or been paid to defend politicians. We all know the current state of the country (Nigeria) is nothing to write home about.

My take is whoever want to protest should do so peacefully without causing harm to either public or private properties. That's my take on this issue
And it won't change
