No they are obviously not, a lot of them are Europeans with very slight Jewish ancestry. Then you also have the Ethiopian Jews who are truly Jews themselves.
Ethiopian Jews are no different from the "european" Jews.

Ethiopian Jews and Yemeni Jews are in a different category called Falashas I believe.

Falasha and Ashkenazi Jews share very few similarities. Falasha Jews are much older and purer than the Ashkenazi's.

Ok yes it doesn't relate to us but then it relates to you.
So answer this question
Are you of Jewish ancestry? Or you don't know your ancestry so you claim the people you admire most as your ancestors

They live in a narrow strip of land between Tigrigna and Amhara people in Ethiopia so of course they'll marry from the locals. Their ancestry goes back millennia thus making them among the purest of Jews. The original Jews were tanned/brown in complexion so they looked nothing like those European looking Assyrians.

LOL

There are many variations of the colour Brown, its not like I've seen an old age Jew nor can I pinpoint their complexion. What I meant by that inconclusive response is that they could have been a few shades darker or lighter.

PAGAN9JA:

ok.

ON the fact that these same village people are moving to the cities and joining christian cults. Most of these villagers already have a side christian background. when they move to the cities , they throw away Omenela and build on their christian background. What is left in the village is the elders and the dregs of society. Igbos have successfully turned Omenela into nothing more than a village religion . not even a religion, just a cultural masquerade.

Everyone knows that Odinani has no man-founder or prophet like general trends in any Pagan religion. so a hebrew origin is not possible. I have already explained these reasons to you before on why its not possible. Dont make me repeat that again. Also werent you saying the last time we had this discussion that now you no longer really believe Igbos are the lost jews. Abegi do you change your mind after every Sunday of brainwashing Prove they have a Hebraic ancestry! Look at your face in the mirror! Do you look Semitic! Please! You look more Congoid-Bantu then semitic. stop lying to yourself! Igbo Traditional Religion is the rleigion of the Igbo tribe based on Ancient polytheism that has no connection whatsoever to abrahamic monotheism.
Your jewish theory will only serve to cause more Igbos to joing abrahamic faiths as their newfound "Ancestral Religion" you are just creating confusion and chaos to serve your own needs. and this is affecting Igbo TR in a very negative way. stop playing with history like this! angry

Show me these similarities to Judaism or christianity. Abraham created monotheistic judaism 1000s of years back. Are you saying Igbos migrated before Abraham? Show me proof of this! Present to me a proper timeline and explanation of events. I am waiting. I will give ou some time to cook up a theory. So basically you are trying to say that christianity is the true traditional religion of your forefathers and what Igbo Traditional Religion is being practiced by your elders is nothing but invented trash? TUFIAKWA! see what brainwashing has done to you! NOw you have replaced your REAL religion with that of the foreign missonaries. Exactly What they wanted! angry angry
What do you know about ODINANI? Explain it here? Is Amadioha a Hebraic God? cmon Im waiting for these similarity proofs. You want me to go down the same road with you again as last time. Ok FIne! So be it! Let us waste some more time! angry

Niggah please! My Hausa brethren did not create a thread here on Nairaland claiming that they came from middle-east. If they did so , I would have replied to them in the same manner im replying to you!

shut up and go sleep.

It seems like you are as stupid as your brother 'macof'.

Abraham did not create any religion; what he had was culture (study his life very well and you will realize the truth).
Don't vomit such a blunder again!

What a silly post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Abundance of Melanin is truly a blessing and not a curse. Melanin is the substance that gives everything in the world its beautiful colour and so can never be a curse. The so-called 'Curse of Ham' has nothing to do with Skin colour. People that lack Melanin will find it difficult seeing at some time of the day.

Though, Most of the descendants of Ham were blacks, but what of other people for example Chinese that are of Ham?

If you do not know, it was white skin that is a curse (doubt me? Read your Bible and you will find out).

Have the Igbo got any proof or they are just speculating? Many people think they are Hebrews but they can't prove it.

It is different with the Yoruba. Before Ajayi Crowther replaced their name with Yoruba, the people were called HEBREWS. So you see the Yoruba already have the PROOF in their old name that they are the TRUE HEBREWS, the Israel of God.

I think you're mixing up Yoruba with somewhere else.

Do you know the name Yoruba is not the true identity of the people called Yoruba? The name Yoruba was coined by Bishop Ajayi Crowther. By his action, he limited the history of the Yoruba to the creation of the name. The result is most Yoruba can not trace their history past the creation of the name Yoruba. Making Yoruba history about 200 years old.

The truth is before the name Yoruba the people had a name that went back more than 5000 years. However, by one stroke of the pen Bishop Crowther took away the complete history of the people.  Visit my black-history website and discover the proper and glorious name of the people and know your TRUE identity.

The Jews/Israelites are scattered all over the world. They're not even in Israel today. But, in all honesty, as far as Nigeria is concerned I think the people that fit more to the Jewish heritage are Igbos, without a doubt. There're physical prove of that.

1. Mattew chapter 1 vs 7 reads: And Solomon begat Roboam; and Roboam begat Abia; and Abia begat Asa.

Abis state: God's own state.

2. Genesis chapter 46 vs 16 reads: And the sons of Gad; Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.

Umul-Eri in Anambra state. It literally itranslates as ''The children of Eri''.

I'm presently working on a research to track down the original Jews/Israelites of the bible, using Geography and History. My initial findings is very interesting. I've published part of it and you can read it at http://www.africason.com/2015/07/modern-israel-is-not-descendant-of.html?m=1

If you think Abia was the real name biblical Abia was called then you being deluded, Eri,Arodi aren’t the real names of the biblical people you refer to, I’m sure if you called who we know as biblical Eri by the name Eri in those days , I can assure you he won’t respond.

Those names and locations such as Obu-Gad were all forged in the 80’s , the community was known as Obu-Uga which had a different meaning . Eri you refer to as biblical was an Igala warrior who set up camp in Egugwu-Uku known as Enugu today, he didn’t have anything to do with Igbos and the chronology of the Eri kings of Jgboland Eze-Nri has been researched and they do not align with the biblical Eri.
