Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, made a bold prediction at Nigeria's 64th Independence Day celebration in Awka, asserting that Nigeria will soon join the world's top five economies.

"Nigeria will become one of the top five biggest economies if we utilize our resources," Soludo said, emphasizing unity and resource utilization.

"We're blessed with abundant human and material resources, and I see hope in our children and youth, the governor said

The Economics professor honoired Nigeria's founding fathers and independence leaders, acknowledging victims of poverty, malnutrition, and inadequate healthcare.

He expressed optimism about Nigeria's future, citing the need for collective effort.

He added,"We want to ensure that our children in all public schools enjoy totally free education. Those who have already paid school fees can collect refunds. The government will provide the resources," he announced.

The state government will also continue subsidizing schools returned to churches, employing thousands of teachers and spending over 1 billion naira monthly.

Soludo identified 77 communities lacking government schools and called for partnerships to establish public schools in every community.

"Everyone has something to offer. Let's work together to make Nigeria better. If we do, Nigeria will surpass our dreams," Soludo stressed.

Present at the event were Deputy Governor Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Speaker of the State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, Chief Judge Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, members of Anambra State House of Assembly, and service commanders in the state.
