wittydee: Tribal bigots don arrive. The deceased was a Yoruba man and the judge is a Yoruba man and the incident happened in Yoruba land. This was purely and basically about lack of evidence needed to sentence him. You think the judge was happy too? He knew that the accused was guilty but he couldn't sentence him just like that based on guts feeling 2 Likes 1 Share |

maasoap:The number of witnesses doesn't really matter!! The only thing the court needed to set him free is iota of doubt. Even if the evidence you highlighted about were provided, an iota of doubt in those evidence will still set the accused free! State prosecutors are very lazy with thier profession. I have never lost any case against the state! |

maasoap:. The law does not walk in that way! When a murder case is committed ,it must be reported at a police station. The DPP may have to advise on it. Forensic proof may be needed.. In fact there must an autopsy report connecting the stabbing to the death. All these and other evidences are required to establish a murder case. The lives of both the accused and the dead are necessary. How are we sure what occured really took place. In some cases a poor prosecution like this arises when the deceased family is not interested in the case again. The state team will just make some feeble appearances towards the final settlement out of court. |

I salute the judge for upholding THE LAW. This is exactly what the lastma people say when they emasculate and traumatise you: they gleefully tell you "It is the law".. So, hope they now see that the law works both ways. The werey died like a chicken looking for a free car to auction in their kangaroo alausa mobile court. Even as the knife was slitting his throat, he was still calculating how much will come to him when the car is auctioned to their syndicate car dealer. Shioor! |
Re: Court Frees Man Accused Of Killing LASTMA Officer by VonSmallhausen: 8:36am On Oct 02 |
My take on this matter is that the accused pleaded with the Man's family and made monetary restitutions, paid the police and prosecution, and they took pity on him given he had probably spent 2 years in Kirikiri. Based on this the authorities could have made all the evidence disappear and purposely delivered a watery case which they knew would fail in court. We as a people are too merciful for our own good, and that is part of the reason law and order cannot obtain in our society. Really sad. |

Yorubas can fear the north eeh. See the way the ones here are trying to explain away everything Which evidence is the court looking for? Were their no eye witnesses accounts? The report even said he abandoned his vehicle and fled. Does it that the ownership of the vehicle could not be traced to him? Question? |
