About a month ago my uncle who residents in Lagos called my Dad to share the good news about how some friend of his who resides in Canada and have secured a job for him in the Canada. The said friend assured my uncle that all is ready for him to move abroad both the job he will be doing and all sundry. Only thing remaining is for him to secure the fight ticket. Looks too good to be true to me but my uncle wouldn't listen to any contrary opinion about the possibility of a scam. If I try to bring it to light about the possibility of it being a scam he always push back with claims that some men of God confirmed to him that he will travel out soonest and I don't want to sound like a hater so I just lock up. But my problem is that right now we are selling family lands to give to him to fund the travel with hope that if everything works out fine then he would have created link for other members of the extended family to be able to travel out to Canada. I think we will regret this later. What do you think? |

Did the friend requested for money for the processing, he only ask your uncle to purchase flight ticket by himself or is the friend requesting to purchase the ticket on his behalf? If the former is true, stop being an ingrate and be grateful to the Almighty 3 Likes |

Scam! That was how one of my mom's sister tried to scam her because the ignorant & desperate mother of mine just wanted me to japa through her, because her sister went visiting. I told my mom point blank not to send any money & if she was going to do so, I need to engage her so called sister & the agent that is involved. I detest desperate people! A 40-year old man is about to learn a PAINFUL lesson. Only shame is that he has DRAGGED your whole family into it. His FOOLISHNESS is about to compound the aggregate woes of your extended family. He sounds so GULLIBLE! A pastor who's still WALLOWING in tinubulation told him he'd travel abroad soon and the FOOL believed him. First of all, ask him these questions: 1. What kind of job? 2. Does it require a certificate ? 3. How much does the certificate cost? 4. What kind of Visa would he need? 5. What does this "friend" do? 6. How long has the "friend" been in Canada? 7. Does this "friend" not have a family member who'd be interested in the same opportunity?  8. How much would it actually cost to "process" everything? Your Uncle is riding his GULLIBILITY and Confirmation Bias to his impending DOOM. Best thing you can do right now is to let the FOOL get scammed. Goodlyhrt: If you are very sure of your uncle then I suggest you review the visa process again as suggested by his friend and try to identify the possible areas where he can be scammed so that you can convince him to abandon it |

Either your uncle's friend wana scam him or your uncle is the scammer. Right now, getting LMIA outside Canada is so difficult. Ask your uncle if he has at any point in time traveled to Lagos or Abuja to do biometric? Nobody can secure such visa for you without you doing biometric! 3 Likes |
