The country is on the verge of an energy and food crisis...

What does the president and minister for Petroleum do? Goes on a 2 week vacation outside Nigeria.

It just shows how unserious about governance bat and the apc are. For them and thier supporters, the ultimate goal is to win elections and mock the losers. That is all.

They tell us to patronise local goods and services to shore up the Naira, but the president goes abroad for holiday at the expense of the tax payers.

The jet would be parked in London accruing charges or used for international gallivanting by the wife and children at the expense of the masses.

Yet, he and his cronies tell Nigerians to endure while they indulge in excess luxury and comfort.

When are we ever going to get it right in this country? What exactly is delay for? Is this not a policy to ease the pressure on importation of crude for refining. Sometimes ehn, e go just be like make I vent my anger on the greedy leaders. Must this inflation wreck 85% of the Nigerian citizen before this government start doing what's best to curb it? Like how many months do they need to conclude on price for crude in Naira?

This is what happens when a clueless and nepotistic president picks and dominates his cabinet with mostly his Lagos boys who have little or no experience in managing a national economy. Wale Edun (Finance minister) and Yemi Cardoso (CBN governor) are just as clueless as the president.
They just don't know what to do to turn the economy around

*The exchange rate will be fixed for the duration of this transaction."

Take a few moments and chew on the above. If implemented ..... the refinery will be in full production but fuel will become scarce. Imagine the price of crude locked at whatever ....and that of PMS locked at N900/liter ... at an agreed exchange rate of N1800/$1 .... or 50 cents/liter. Let's assume at this rate it's not profitable to smuggle the fuel across the border. The Naira continues to.devaluate ... as it will .... and dips to N2500/1 ... now making it profitable to smuggle. Why wouldn't fuel be scarce at the pump ....or the price raised to unaffordable heights to discourage smuggling? Why would Dangote not find a way to export more fuel and supply less locally? After all... it's a business venture and not a charity organization. And LEADERSHIP is wondering why it cannot hear from either side

If care is not taken, the next 7 years will continue like this for Nigeria. Forget about voting tinubu out, he is a mafia it won’t work.

I hope he will pick a decent successor as he picked fashola . If not it means Nigeria doom will extend to 15 years and by then the generation of youths available will be the once’s bred under Nigeria corrupt system. They will see corruption as a normal way of life.

The imf and the world Bank are not comfortable with the policy
And our president and his team will not want to do anything that the imf and the world Bank are not pleased with.
Unfortunately, we are having a president that is totally imf and world Bank compliance.

There is no way NNPC is able to provide 365,000BPD . Most of it is gone to Oil for Loan schemes .

The minister of petroleum has run to UK instead of kickstarting the deal cheesy even his online warriors will be disappointed
The recent event involving Nigeria's Minister of Petroleum potentially fleeing to the United Kingdom raises questions about Nigeria's true independence. If this is indeed the case, it suggests that the Nigerian government may be seeking validation from the UK before initiating the purchase of crude oil in the national currency. This would challenge the status quo, as the United States and other Western nations typically expect African countries to trade their crude oil exclusively in US dollars.

Nigeria's government might be attempting to test the waters, ensuring that their actions do not provoke adverse reactions from Western nations. There is historical precedent for such concerns, as several Arab countries that previously attempted to sell their crude oil in their own currencies faced backlash from the United States. This resulted in America allegedly planning various attacks on these nations. One notable example is Saudi Arabia's refusal to renew a contract selling their crude oil in dollars, leading to the US allegedly instigating unrest among the Saudi populace and advocating for democracy.

These instances of Western interference suggest that African leaders are often reduced to being puppets of their former colonial masters, unable to make independent decisions without considering Western interests. This could explain why they frequently visit the UK, America, and other nations, seeking to align their policies with the interests of these countries. The situation in Africa appears dire. Na only God go fit help us.

Peace!
