The Rivers State Police Command has said it will enforce court orders as regarding the local government elections billed to be held on Saturday in the state.

This was made known in a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko titled ‘Proposed October 5th, 2024 Local Government Chairman Election.

In the statement, the police confirmed being in receipt of a restraining order preventing them from providing security during the LGA elections.

The command also said it is aware of the 30th September 2024 Court judgement from the Federal High Court Abuja which bars the Force from participating in the election.

The statement further added that the Force Legal Department has advised that the ruling from the 30th of September takes precedence.

The statement also referenced the protest march by the opposition PDP during which they called for an adherence to the court orders.

The court barred the police from participating in the election, it didn't stop the election from holding. And there is also a high court judgement that gave the go ahead for the election to hold.

There are two court orders from two courts of equal power

One from Rivers State high court which came first
The other from federal high court which came later

But are opposing each other, by right are you not supposed to obey the first Order?

God bless you my G ….

Fubara thinks he is wiser than who made him …

He will learn the hard way… and he will eventually end up being a one time governor who achieved nothing in four years

That is what greed has brought Nigeria to. Those who are supposed to speak up against this tyranny are keeping quiet because of what they will get or have gotten
That LG autonomy judgement was a farce. It was only an attempt to strip the govs of influence over LG matters. No autonomy inside at all

the later court order should have been guided by the first one, being that is a case relating to the elections, but went ahead and causing confusion, if anything happens the Justices Lifu should know that he is the cause
