How Much Would You Pay To Own A Blog Like This? by Pamela96(f): 10:29am On Oct 05
This is not just to estimate the worth of this blog but to help me determine how Nigerians place value on blogs. In fact, I'm trying to really understand the Nigerian blog flipping market - if at all it exists.

From my observation thus far, Nigerians rarely spend more than 150k on blog purchases. Trying to flip a blog worth over N5m in the Nigerian market is an absolute waste of time...even when you slash the price value to N2m.

Normally, I've always known the Nigerian web space industry to be very unprofitable since my web designing days when the average Nigerian business wouldn't pay 800k for a quality website. The same website foreigners will pay $500 for, Nigerians will price you N35k.

Yes, Nigerians don't appreciate developers and related fields (like blogs). It's deductible that many silly individuals have helped in ruining the market with hokum projects done at kobos per pages due to hunger.

Regardless, I will like to know if there's still a market left for digital assets flipping among Nigerians. And most importantly, the value they will place on them.

The Blog drawbacks

=> It's new, quite new: Yes, it's barely a few months old. The domain is freshly conceived and just about 10months old but the blog itself was only started about 3 months ago. But it's performing like a year old blog.
=> Not .Com domain: We are all used to the dotCom bubble but this time, this blog decided to go with dotTop which though placed as a con due to its limited awareness to the average Joe, is actually one of the best selling domains out there.
=> Not high traffic: Well, since it's less than 4 months old, you didn't expect it to have millions of visitors, did you? This blog is currently receiving just about 1.5k per month visits. But it's growing rather fast.
=> Not much backlinks: It's freshly created, remember? Backlinks and domain authority take time (years even) to build so, a few months old blog like this is lucky to have tens of it especially since building them hasn't been prioritized.
=> Not marketed: Certainly not been promoted at all. Discovery has been either organic or referrals. Besides, it's been an experiment to see if starting a blog from scratch can still be lucrative.

The above listed cons are so basic that they can be resolved with a single solution of swapping to an old .com domain that already has good authority in the space.

Good Qualities of the Blog

Has good contents: It already has 123 good articles published - most of which are over 2,500 words and attracting views.
Fast growing: Despite it being very new on a fresh dotTop domain and not being promoted, it's already gaining momentum that I dare say is faster compared to the average blogs being launched daily.
It's monetized: It's already been accepted into several affiliate programs on the commission junction network and it's already making some money via tips.
Simple Domain: The importance of having a few character-length domain can never be over emphasized. The simpler your blog name, the easier it is to retain readers.
It's Custom-built: This means unlike CMSs like WordPress that everyone is familiar with and can prolly make you vulnerable via malicious plugins etc, everything about this blog was built specifically inhouse. Only the blogger has the keys.
Safe & Secure: From XSS, spoofing, brute force attacks to major cyber hacks, the blog has been tested and protected from the disruptions. I dare say it's impregnable.
Operational Speed: It's very light weight and does not use any external resource as everything is coded in-house. It loads very few files per page to improve speed.
Modern Functionality: From background navigation that ensures readers move across pages without reloading the entire page, to the routing structure, the blog is as modern as any platform can get.
Revenue Generator: It also comes with additional ways of generating revenue which includes a Tipping/Gifting feature and a premium subscription to skip Ads.
SEO Helper: It auto detects search engine spiders/crawlers/bots, structures the posts and add schemas to help them to clearly see and understand the content. Even the URLs are SEO-friendly and unbreakable as they are inserted dynamically on page load.
Engagement Features: It has all the conventional features (post rating, clapping, commenting, sharing) and many more cool features (e.g pinning posts, reading time & history, table of contents generation).
Blog Automations: From auto pinging search engines (Google & Bing) to alert them of new content, to auto insertion of the most suitable internal and affiliate links into posts dynamically on page load, the blog handles half the job for the blogger.
Blog Design: Mostly an elegant design with a minimalist layout to keep readers focused on what matters. I noticed that blogs with too many distractions affect earnings.

So, how much would you spend to buy a blog like this? Do you think it's worth more than N160k?
Would you pay N150k? N100k? N80k? Or would it be a mere N50k?
Or perhaps even less than N40K?
What would be your honest bid? And would you want this blog? Or a blog like it?

Low amount.
Could you kindly state your major reason why?
And what amount are you hinting at?

Don't be hesitant about highlighting your bid as I'm quite willing to offload this blog project to a serious blogger.
And I might even choose a handover to a N40k bidder over certain N100k bidders for reasons at my sole discretion. This is no longer about "just the money".
Besides, I'm trying to create a blogging network for residual earnings among members.
Would you value & grow a blog like this?
If so, how much are you willing to pay to own it?

I'm looking at the scenario of a beginner and I'm looking at something like N55000.

That barely covers the costs of the domain, hosting, blog platform...not to talk of over 122 well-written articles!
However, I asked for bids and everyone ought to bid according to their pocket and perceived value of what they are bidding on.
Thank you Emeka!
Besides, as I'm eager to get more people on my blogging network I'm basically trying to give out blogs, so, I could accept that bid as the real money will be made later in dollars.
@Emeka, I believe you can go N60k. Drop your Whatsapp. I'm comparing bids for different blogs on the network.

You can choose your industry and we will research a good low competitive micro-niche and build a fast conversion-driven blog around it with quality SEO-focused contents. Plus the blog will be on the network so, you can quickly start monetization and getting residual traffic & earnings. And you can start with as low as N12k.
