The day the likes of Madam Ngozi, Adeshina and Soludo criticised Tinubu Economic Policy is the day I will follow suit.

These are experts in their fields and are well respected all over the world. But none of them has publicly criticised particular the fuel subsidy removal and the naira floating.

Why should I listen to people that feed on junks from social media to form opinion

EDITED:

I will be updating the thread with extracts from economic experts warning the leaders about the impending doom that has caught up with us today.

SOLUDO:
Below is extracts from one of Soludos numerous warning to Jonathan's government

Beside other issues we raised, our main thesis was that the macro economy was dangerously adrift, with little self-insurance mechanisms (and a prediction that if oil prices fell below $40, many state governments would not be able to pay salaries). I gave a subtle hint at easy money and exchange rate depreciations because I did not want to panic the market with a strong statement. Sadly, on the eve of the next elections, literally everything we hinted at has happened. Part of my motivation for this article is that five years after, the real debate is still not happening.

I will start criticizing Tinubu when the likes of Obi, Atiku and Kwankwaso start criticizing him.

Until then, I dont have any problem with his policies because my opposition is still in the gutter.

Good market is not hard that hard to sell. If Tinubu's policy are good enough, large section of the population will be singing his praise already. Likes of yaradua and murtala Muhammed didn't stay so long in office to convince Nigerians of their plans and vision and they cemented a place in our heart. God rest their soul.

I don't know where you witness Murtala regime but I witnessed Yaradua as a graduate. Tell me the economic policy of Yardua that transformed Nigeria.

At least you have idea of the bigger picture. Now tell me will Tinubu be compelled to obey those conditions if we are not indebted to them.

Do you have any obligation to obey any banks rules when you are not indebted and transact business with them?

There has been hunger and inflation since the day of your grandfather. Was it Tinubu that caused the hunger in those years

My point there was to point out the involvement of international institutions as part of Nigeria's woe.

But it's not their fault we harvest the invested wood ourselves

This is an uneducated comment to say the least and a nonsensical statement to say the most. The last time I checked, you can read a book and formulate your expert opinion about a topic you feel it addresses you directly. So why should I wait for the opinions of others to shape my own opinions?
Does that make any common sense to you?
If you feel Tinubu's policies are fine, so be it. If you feel they aren't, so be it. Therefore, we don't need the "Expert opinions" to tell us otherwise. Or are you unable to make decisions and formulate opinions yourself?

He implemented policies that stabilize the naira and curb inflation.
He focus on diversification of the economy and shift focus on non oil sectors like manufacturing, agriculture.
He improved foreign reserve through some prudent fiscal policies.
He encourage collaboration with the private sector through public-private partnership program.
These policies didn't take long to have positive effect on masses and zero need to preach patience or people to make needless sacrifices.

In order to sound logical you ended up roping yourself.

Everyone rely on information of others be it verbal or documented to form opinion. The purpose of education is impactation

Economics is not same letter writing. Economist rely on economic theories formulated hundred years ago to form opinion.

You didn't sound like you pass through secondary school

The onus is on you to factcheck any inaccuracies you see there. You asked for economic policies of yaradua, I gave it to you. Even though his time in office was brief but was memorable.

Op these people you mentioned up there don't go to Sango, Ile-epo, Sango or Gbagi market to buy foodstuffs neither do they live on minimum wage which has now turn to dust and can't even take the earner a week to spend so how can they criticise what isn't directly affecting them?

The common man on the street still remains the yardstick to measure the policies of the government be it good or bad and this government is anything but good. Right now I can say power supply is the only aspect of the economy that has improved under this government.

Believe me if the common man can afford to feed comfortably daily then these hardship noise would reduce drastically but for now food is very expensive so how will the common man be happy or say government policies are working
