This is a thread for movie lovers if you've seen the movie drop a review Lisabi: The Uprising is like that perfect jollof rice - spicy, exciting, and unapologetically Nigerian! From the moment the movie drops on Netflix, you know you're in for a serious ride. Directed by the one and only Niyi Akinmolayan, known for awesome films like The Wedding Party 2, this movie brings to life the story of Lisabi, the OG of the Egba rebellion, but in a way that makes you feel like you're right there in the struggle with them. First off, let's talk about the visuals! Akinmolayan and his team didn't come to play. From the panoramic shots of ancient Egba land to the intense battle scenes, the production quality is *chef's kiss*. It's like they took us back to the 18th century but still managed to keep it relatable. Watching Lisabi rally his people against the oppressive Oyo Empire really hits deep because of the current political climate that we find ourselves in. Have you watched the movie?
