lionshare: What then is the purpose of acquiring BVN and NIN for operating a bank account in Nigeria? Is that not enough accountability? Why discard their importance to enthrone tax identification in their place? How does a person's income make them eligible or otherwise to maintain a bank account? Accountability according to you. The tax documents Nigerians already possess is not enough to you, the ever-increasing taxes we shoulder everyday is not enough to you. Nigerians that claim a right to intelligence will have perceived a rat with this policy. The fact they are mulling arming the federal road safety corp with guns is another medal of stupidity to the heap of others they have acquired. As usual, the masses will pay with their blood, not them. Another policy is in the works that places an obligation on the citizens to seek official permission before using the national anthem. Nigeria is a plantation of sick policies and misplaced priorities. 2 Likes |

Every policies that this current government imposes on us has never made anything easy for us in this country... When are we going to enjoy a easy going policy... You created a platform for easy international passport registration only for you to increase the price of passport afterwards and yet you don't want your people to indulge in crime for survival, every Nigerian both male and female are into or crime or the other for survival, if you aren't gambling the you are doing illegal stuffs to make money 1 Like |

Zooposki:You might consider relocating to a country with zero income tax, such as the UAE. Additionally, it's worth noting that VAT does not apply to essential goods like food, healthcare, and education. |

Indirect taxes, utility bills aside, I will not pay direct taxes if the government does not provide a job where I will get the money to pay tax. 2 Likes |

Just heard about this yesterday! Paying tax is not even the problem. Everyone in the position to do so should consider paying. But the main problem is: how much benefit will the ordinary man paying get in return? Nothing other than some people up there embezzling money and going practically scot-free, plus extravagant expenditures by these corrupt office holders. If you protest about the embezzlements and bad governance, you get arrested for "attempting to overthrow the government." So where's the incentive for wanting to pay direct taxes? These yeye lawmakers can easily propose crazy laws. But to propose and pass laws that will improve the well-being of the "common man," including reducing their exorbitant and ridiculous compensations, no! |
