Wrote only Civil, even though we did the traditional same day as the regsitry. Hope that's not a problem. Thanks. Dee282: |

Good morning everyone, I have gone through the thread and I appreciate you all for the awesome help you are rendering here. I have a few questions I would like the gurus in the house to help me with answers: Scenario: Have been in a serious relationship with wifey since three years (plenty chat, Whatsapp call logs and pictures). She applied for and processed her Visa as a single lady because we were not married at the time. Had registry wedding afterwards (some weeks before she travelled) and she travelled with "married status"; she has changed her status at her workplace to married as well. All this happened this year. Now here are my questions as we are planning on starting our process this month: 1. Will her 'single' relationship status at the time she applied for Visa affect anything? 2. She does not have up to six months payslip as she has not spent up to six months yet. However, her employer offered to give her a letter. How does this work, please? 3. She meets the financial requirement as the sponsor. Do I need to meet any requirement myself? (I did not see this anywhere, just double-checking). 4. The accommodation requirement is really confusing. She shares a home with a family of 3 - mother(owner) and two daughters. She has her own room and toilet and the house has two living rooms. The plan is to rent another place few weeks before I arrive, so we'd like to apply using this current accommodation. She has a very good relationship with the owner of the house too. Does it qualify? What do you advise? 5. Also, I read some people talking about their partner processing the Visa for them from the UK. Is this better than doing it here in Nigeria by myself? I would appreciate your inputs. Thanks in advance. cc: Justwise , Lexusgs430 , fridpalor |

Southsky: 1 - No...... 2 - 6 months payslip + 6 months bank statement is a MUST 3 - You don't have to meet any requirements.... Just wait for 6/7 months documents maturity to elapse.... 4 - Does she have a tenancy agreement? How many bedrooms in the house? Is landlord happy to give her letter of authorization? To be on the safe side, property inspection report gives you added security..... 5 - How can you apply from the UK, when you presently reside in Nigeria?.....? Can you be using a phone in Nigeria and charging from the UK........ NB: What is her residential status in the UK ? What sort of passport or visa does she have?..... |

Southsky: 1. No 2. Don't risk it, letter from her employer will not cut it, don't be in a rush to waste millions of naira in a failed application. 3. No you don't need to meet any financial requirement only education. 4. She will need a letter from the landlord stating that the living condition will not lead to overcrowding or property inspector to have a look at the house. 5. Far better to do everything from the UK because almost all the documents will be coming from your wife, she can't send them to you in Nigeria then you package and send back to the UK. |

Lexusgs430: 4. She has a tenancy agreement. There are three bedrooms. Landlady is very cool with her and won't have any issues giving her a letter of authorization. 5. Lol. I keep hearing people say they did it that way and that's why I'm confused. She has a tier 2 (General) Leave to enter. It's stated exactly that way on her residence permit. Thank for your response. |

Southsky: You are not applying for a spousal visa, don't waste unnecessary funds....... Head to the living in the UK thread for proper guidance........ |

Southsky:For a dependent visa you don’t need six months pay slips. You only need maintenance funds in your bank account for the required number of days. 1 Like |

Hello house trust u guys are all doing fine. Please is there any one that has gone through the self employed route as agency health care assistant under the spouse visa? Please if there is, I need assistance please. My wife has not yet filled her tax return this year, she said it is by next year April they usually fill tax return. The copy of account she showed me is from 1st July 2017 - 31 march 2018. She started the agency work in 2017. She said I have to wait for her to fill the recent one by next year April. Please I need advice from those that has gone through self employed route or those that has the knowledge. Many thanks. |
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Dee282: 6:54am On Aug 14, 2019 |
LuvlyIva:She should also have tax return for 2018/2019. No, you guys don’t have to wait till April. However, self employment route requires a lot. You might want to read the guide provided by home office https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/783641/Appendix-FM-1-7-Financial-Requirement-ext_1_.pdf . Alternatively, you can seek the help of a solicitor. I understand that they won’t charge more than £200 if your case is straight forward. |

yooo... I see no need for this aggression.... We are all here to learn, and we've done that peacefully, especially from MamaEEE.. I feel you should apologize... Personally, i did background checks and the least i saw was 1,050 quid.. even one thats run by a colleague's friend.. Consultation is different from checking your docs.. Full docs review don't come that cheap trust me.. Please apologize...ur tone was/is wrong.. Champneys: 1 Like |

profemebee: Documents check and all can be done as low as £200 as long as your case is straightforward. A lot of solicitors offers free consultation. Depends on where you’re looking at.. |

straightforward applications means that no kids? no overstay? just one marriage? no divorce? stuff like that yeahh... i rather pay so i can hold the lawyer by the neck lol Dee282: |
Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Dee282: 3:29pm On Aug 14, 2019 |
profemebee:Solicitors are there to interpret laws for you. Not everyone wants to sit with pages of guidelines before applying. All the stuffs you listed wouldn’t make application less straightforward as long as you have all the necessary documents needed. |
