NITDA Director General @KashifuInuwa Meets with Genome Leaders to Discuss Nigeria's Tech Ecosystem at GITEX Global 2024

At GITEX Global 2024, a key meeting took place between Kashifu Inuwa, Director General of Nigeria’s National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), and senior leadership of Startup Genome, including President Ravi Narayan, Managing Director of Hypergrowth Samantha Evans, and Chief Program Officer Mike Jackson. This high-level discussion aimed at forging strategic partnerships to unlock Nigeria's vast untapped potential in the technology and innovation sector.

Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation, has long been recognized for its vibrant startup scene, but with the support of international leaders like Startup Genome, the country’s tech ecosystem is poised for even greater heights. The meeting focused on how NITDA and Startup Genome can collaborate on developing infrastructure, creating talent pipelines, and providing access to global markets for Nigerian startups.

Kashifu Inuwa emphasized the importance of leveraging such partnerships to align with NITDA’s vision of driving digital innovation and economic transformation. "Nigeria is ready for a digital revolution. Through collaborations with global tech leaders like Startup Genome, we can create a thriving ecosystem that fosters growth, attracts investment, and enables our startups to compete globally," said Inuwa.

Startup Genome's leadership echoed this sentiment, with President Ravi Narayan stating, “We see tremendous potential in Nigeria’s tech ecosystem, and we are excited about the opportunity to work with NITDA to accelerate the growth of startups in the region.”

This meeting signifies a bold step towards positioning Nigeria as a global tech hub, with initiatives that could have far-reaching effects on job creation, economic growth, and technological advancements in the country. The next phase will involve both entities working closely to identify key sectors for development and ensuring Nigerian entrepreneurs have the tools and resources to scale their ventures globally.

As the world watches, Nigeria is gearing up to become a leading force in Africa’s digital transformation, and the collaboration between NITDA and Startup Genome could very well be the catalyst for this transformation.
