Here is the video of Peter Obi saying he would remove subsidy on DAY ONE of his presidency. He was even shouting that how can we be spending 7 trillion naira annually on fuel subsidy while spending only 3.2 trillion combined on Health and Education! He was screaming that the whole thing was a scam, and that he wouldn't hesitate to remove it the same day he entered office as president! Now due to the subsidy removal by President Tinubu, inflation has risen, and Obidients are BLAMNG TINUBU for causing the inflation when their principal supported the same policy! I don't know the hysteria about Peter Obi. Though, I didn't watch the video because it's unnecessary. Even if said so, have you asked how he wants to go about it? You think Peter Obi, if INEC rightly declared him winner and he was given the handover notes months before swearing in like Tinubu, wouldn't know what to do? Or you think he'd just open his mouth like Tinubu to say "subsidy is gone" without thinking? Even Ododo, Kogi State governor won't do that. No matter the propaganda against PO, the guy isn't T-pain abeg. Tinubu should face governance and stop disturbing Nigerians. After listening to a lot of people talk, I have come to realize that many of them do not understand the concept of cause and effect, including this lamba king. All those against subsidy now were fully in support of it, in fact, if any of the contestants had said he would continue paying subsidy, he would have been viewed as a thief because he would be accused of wanting to still trillions of naira under subsidy payment. What many people did not however realize was that the subsidy removal that they are in support of will require that prices of petrol will increase and inflation will rise. Only Tinubu seemed to have understood it and also only he anticipated that there would be protests following such actions and only he was able to boldly say that in spite of all of that, he would have no choice but to follow through with it. The others particularly this lamba king still think leadership is a popularity contest. If you are a leader who takes bold decisions, you will face heavy criticism by the very people you are trying to help whereas if you are into "make dem like me", attending naming ceremonies and attending parties just to appear popular, you cannot be a good leader not even in an estate not to talk of political position, it is not possible. |
