being poor is not an excuse for being stupid.. when a fuel tanker falls down, anyone will small sense should run as fast as their legs can carry them and be far away from that vicinity but in naija its not like that. Instead they see it as opportunity to scoop free fuel and perish in the process. Economy is bad does not mean u should be stupid and die foolish death. There's nothing like free fuel, rather the tanker is a bomb waiting to explode. running towards it is pure suicide.

No RIP to waste because i know that if another tanker falls tomorrow, everyone will carry bucket and jerrycan to fetch free fuel.. To them God have buttered their bread grin grin

If there stayed far from the fallen tanker and call on the authorities, this would have been avoided.

Just waste their lifes all for nothing.

Government through the local authorities should carry out public sanitization about this issue! like you said , a tanker filled with fuel, most especially an overturned tanker filled with fuel is like a time bomb waiting to explode. When a fuel tanker overturns, there should be an immediate human evacuation from the surrounding as it's done in western countries when unexploded ordinance is discovered within living surroundings.

Even when authorities are not there to guide on evacuation, survival instincts, and common sense dictates you Usain Bolt to a safer distance in order to perpetuate continued existence, but NO! they would rather use that moment to take leave of their senses because of the aroma of free fuel!
