The night after the guy left, his wife came to ask for my charger. She mentioned that she needed to charge her phone and communicate with her husband as she was feeling lonely. I didn't like to give her my charger because it could lead to her getting close to me. So, I snubbed her.

But I started feeling guilty, plus I like having a cordial relationship with my neighbors. I began to blame myself for getting cordial with them in the first place. If only I knew that only me and her would be staying at the top floor (since the other family travelled), I wouldn't have gotten close to them when they came.

Because I was feeling guilty for snubbing her, I went back to give her the charger since she said she needed to charge her phone to talk with her husband. Luckily for me, my charger couldn't fit into her phone's charging port.

I heaved a sigh of relief and left. But soon, I realized I just started a problem for myself.
