Spartak Moscow striker Emmanuel Emenike is facing a potential ban from Fifa for his alleged involvement in the Turkish match-fixing scandal, according to Life Sports.

The Nigeria international joined the Russian club from Fenerbahce in the summer for a €10 million fee, despite being arrested and questioned in July as part of the match-fixing investigations, as he was later released due to lack of evidence.

However, last week Turkish prosecutors announced that 93 people have formally been charged for involvement in the crimes, with Emenike included in the list.

Fifa may ban the 24-year-old from football while the forward could receive a jail sentence of up to 12 years if found guilty in court.

Since his summer arrival in Russia, Emenike has been in fine form, grabbing eight goals in 13 appearances for Spartak.
