People overate the role vote buying plays in an election. Let us assume 5M voted for a candidate, if each of those voters receives 5k each, that will be equal to 25 billion going into circulation within the period of election.

For a few party officials to have that ready cash available, it will mean that there is going to be cash strap in all other sectors of the economy in the weeks preceding the election because those officials would have mopped up all available cash.
