When the taxes ultimately increase, and the pain becomes unbearable for Nigerians, the same world bank will tell you that the decision to raise taxes, was a local one made by Nigeria and not from the world bank. Yet they are busy now arm twisting a desperate and clueless government in Abuja

same way they claimed buhari had reversed all the economic gains of PDPs 16years partly due to their influence.

unfortunately we have leaders who are hungry for loans to steal

This is one thing that gets interesting to be true.
That the Nigerian government needs to agree to increase tax and do it before it would be able to access loans from the world bank?
Is this how it has been done or this is a new format even when we have one of our own as the world bank president?

Nothing new, dis exactly how IMF/world bank operates. All developing countries with resources & incompetent kleptomaniacs as leaders get similar conditions. The leaders Syphone d loaned money back to western bank accounts, while the IMF/WB gets their money + intrests through discounted or free natural resources( minerals, crude oil, raw materials etc). Every body wins, EXCEPT THE ORDINARY CITIZENS.

Doing everything humanly possible to access the external loan yet the Lazy NLC will want to blame IMF for our woes. if you are poor and lack funds, why go to saudi arabia every year to stone spirits? The NLC know their members who do nothing but get salaries are likely the next to get the chop after subsidy so they are fighting for their monthly stipends.

You don't increase taxes during economic reforms; you remove your competitor's advantage and limit investment into the country.

The ARMOR programme includes three main result areas: implementing tax and excise reforms to increase Value-Added Tax collections and excise rates on health and environmentally friendly products; strengthening tax and customs administrations to enhance VAT compliance and audit effectiveness; and safeguarding oil and gas revenues by increasing transparency and net revenue contributions.

" How can we help foster the Public Private Partnership bringing capital and expertise and standards so that we can keep exploiting .... auhhh .... hmmm .... exploring where we can get their minerals."

U.S Senator Todd Young addressing Congress.

World Bank and the IMF are the main tools used to keep Africa in bondage and continued exploitation. Whatever loan is asked for ... Nigeria will receive despite not having the capacity to repay. The conditions will be agreed upon by the FG despite WB and IMF conditions always worsen conditions for the masses. This is part of the agenda to control and exploit Africa .... like the Senator let out of the bag in his slip up. When we keep hearing about loans .... and public private partnerships .... think exploitation .... not welcomed development.

Trade Liberalization and tax reform never work.

The World Bank policies failed in Argentina and the Philippines. The rich are supposed to pay the increased tax burden, are protected by lawyers and political connections; hence, the tax burden will fall on the middle class and poor.

After removing all the subsidies, you now impose a tax on the poor what do you expect?

Later IMF will deny they asked the government to do anything.

When you attached conditions to the loan what do you expect. I don’t even blame them, the loan is not by force, it’s our government that is sacrificing our future for $750m I blame.

$750m that Nigeria could generate in a few days in 2010 is what we have to meet so many conditions to borrow today.

What are they doing with all these loans?

I thought subsidy removal, naira devaluation, tax increments and other wicked policies of this government was actually to free up more funds for the government.

What then is the need for loans ?

Wakeup people, dont forget they already offered you the jab.

They already offered the easy way out, so that should tell you what they have planned for future.

Its a red pill or blue pill moment

blue pill says , the economy will gradually improve and life will get back to normal , the flooding will reduce, taxes will go down, and terrorist are not civil servants .

red pill says, take the jab for easy way out, or prepare to meet your maker on your own terms in near future.

World Bank will stylishly bend federal government's hand to take loan by having Federal government implement policies then later they will claim they are not the one telling Federal government what to do.. Why give conditions before you give a government loan if you aren't up to something

Destroying the local economy to receive loans from IMF to be looted into private pockets.

And some idiots here will say its not the fault of these internal bodies with vested interests?

Who gave these as a precondition for accessing loans, Buhari at least tried to protect us from some of these harsh conditions.

These policies only destroy the country economically and benefit politicians in power. NLC was right.

He who pays the piper dictates the tune.....you can't be collecting money from the world bank and be claiming independence.

Nigerians have to understand that until you reduce your indebtedness to a manageable level, you will continue to obey IMF/World bank.

They are now our de facto policy maker. This has nothing to do with Tinubu, it is what it is!
......bingo !!
satan/Obama/USA/intelligence agencies/leading NWO (new world order) satanists/occultists, world bank/IMF/WEF etc. installed this APC cult government to begin with !!

The biggest "gain" of the APC cult is the hijack of INEC & Judiciary such that regime change (revolt) by ballot box is impossible rendering the masses completely helpless. Even worse majority are still clueless after 2 (S)election cycles -maybe 2027 will convince them that elections are now turn by turn (emilokan) within the APC cult.

May OLODUMARE hasten the expiry date.

Was it not under a World Banker that Nigeria saved $25bn in an Excess Crude Account? Under her, the foreign debt was reduced from $35bn to $5bn.

Nigeria's tax revenues are barely 10% of GDP compared to the minimum of 22% that Charles Soludo said a country must have. Ivory Cost collects 26% of GDP. The 10% is one of the lowest in the world

The country is too reliant on oil and gas for a large part of revenue. The overdependency on it a major reason why Nigeria suffers when the price of oil goes down. Oil and gas accounts for about 70% of government revenue.

The loan being taken is for the purpose of increasing revenues as a percentage of GDP by 2.5% or so.

The monies would be released in tranches. For any tranche to be released, the government must achieve a certain milestone for the purpose of increasing government revenues.

...... looks good on paper !

IMF, World bank know their APC cult puppets are stealing the money and yet keep loaning them money with all these fake paper criteria for the oppressed gullible masses to read and feel good !

Buhari, family and cronies borrowed & looted what will take 2 to 3 unborn generations to pay -he even borrowed against the oil underground !!
