Fresh Graduates Brag About Hair Costs Instead Of CGPA On Sign-Out Day (Photos) by Gistmedia10: 3:07pm On Oct 29
In a viral footage captured by a fellow student, fresh female graduates were seen boasting about the extravagant costs of their hairstyles during their sign-out day, igniting a wave of criticism online. The video featured the graduates discussing the prices of their hairpieces, with one graduate revealing her wig cost a staggering 500,000 Naira, while another flaunted a 350,000 Naira hairstyle. shocked

As they turned around for the camera, the filmer exclaimed, "Oh my God!" at the eye-popping prices, seemingly in awe of their extravagant looks. However, many netizens did not share the same enthusiasm. Instead of celebrating their academic achievements, commenters expressed disappointment, arguing that the graduates should have been more focused on their cumulative grade point averages (CGPA) rather than the cost of their hair.

One commenter quipped, "Next, ask them what's the meaning of CGPA," highlighting the disconnect between their academic success and their priorities. Others, however, defended the graduates, stating, "That is why it is good to date someone that has money. How can a broke guy afford this fee?"

As a reflection of contemporary societal values, where materialism sometimes overshadows academic accomplishments, leaving many to question the true essence of education and success.

Aside Oil and Gas, and maybe Tech and Engineering, the highest paying sector in Nigeria is Banking and Audit(Finance).

And as recent as June 2024, after the first salary review, Entry level staffs at any Nigerian commercial Bank earn around 320k(For Optimus, Sterling, Eco) to around 512K+( Stanbic, Citibank pay highest). The Big 4 dont even pay up to this for Entry Level

How does a University final year student afford wigs costlier than what Banks pay Fresh Graduates?

Would they really want to work for a company that pays roughly the same as the cost of their wig?

The future is effing bleak. Migration to hookup na hin sure pass

The thing is, most Nigerian girls on artificial hair don't have sense. The costlier the hair on their head, the smaller the brain.

To put an expensive hair on a block head should be treated as a criminal offence if Nigeria is a sane country.

I have this feeling that Batife on 90k hair will go for NYSC before those baby whales there.

Why on earth will you brag or boast of CGPA of 1.23? She's obviously graduating with pass grade. You wouldn't, I wouldn't and nobody would've. So I understand her. So its safe for her to brag about what she's putting on.

Arguably.

And by this logic, one would expect the opposite to be true. The cheaper the hair, the more reasonable and sensible, etc., but men's existence seems to defy this law of negative correlation.

Most of them walk around with low-cut hair and low-quality thinking. Their gorimapas are just as reflective of their smooth brains. Abi how does one explain men having block heads and bald heads?

Better to have a head of good hair, expensive or not, than an empty one.

And 90k isn't a problem here, I see. So this is not about the costliness or artificiality, but the "lack of sense" that cannot be verified, by the way. The same way 90k looks moderate to some is the same way 300k is moderate to others. But Batife will serve first because it is not the same fake hair she's wearing lmao.

I know agenda has landed for you guys. Women cannot have fun again.

There is a girl with 2k hair there, in braids too, and because the video did not find others like her to record, everyone will ignore her to be crying about the ones who are mentioning expensive prices.

eya. You'll be all right in the end. And wanna know what's worst? You're gonna end up with a stupid man (same blockhead you describe up there) and he's gonna climb you. Life can be very funny sometimes. With all your so called "intelligence, wits and sense" you'll still fall for a lowlife. I Sabi your type well.

You guys seriously need to take a chill pill and calm dafuq down. The girls are obviously having fun, their gpa isn't mentioned in the video so I don't see how it matters here since you cannot know for sure what their gpa is. Allow them have their fun..

.. meanwhile, I know I don't know much about hair but I didn't see any hair that should be above 70k in the video, maybe they increased the prices or they were cheated

Because it is largely a training ground. Na partners dey chop the money.

How does a University final year student afford wigs costlier than what Banks pay Fresh Graduates?
In their defence, they don't buy wigs every month, but companies pay salaries monthly.

Would they really want to work for a company that pays roughly the same as the cost of their wig?
That is even the best rationale for them to work for these companies - the salaries match the cost of a wig. Again, see above.

The future is effing bleak. Migration to hookup na hin sure pass
It does not follow. Hookup isn't sustainable in the long run. It can be a means to an end, but never an end. A job with any of the companies above and names on one's CV set one's life on a positive track in Nigeria, and I dare say, anywhere in the world.

Men work hard to buy PS for themselves while those ladies shouting 350k hair I can bet you less than 5 % bought it for themselves, I'm even considerate with it. Have you seen men bragging on how much they spent on PS? Those who work and buy their wigs can never be bragging on the cost of it it's always those disturbing men with request for hair that do that.
