I have been watching this thread and reading comments with keen interest. Let me add my two cents.

All I have been seeing here is people thinking they can achieve this feet with just their own singular, physical effort. Check all the investors that are controlling today's wealth. They all followed one pathway.

Get a skill -> work in a company that pays you top money for the skill -> start your own business offering the same skill as a consultant, or develop products/services that utilize the skill for a mass audience -> investing in other companies that are doing well, either directly or indirectly via stocks -> other investment vehicles.

The journey is a 10-20 year journey. Probably not achievable by 40 years of age.

If you think 20 years is a long time, I can tell you it is not...it will pass like breeze.
