Christmas Carol:a Platform For Fuel Subsidy Removal Debate by Rafelo01: 1:39pm On Dec 16, 2011
This country is a country of clowns. Christmas carol has now been turned to policy debate platform. Bishop Mathew Kukar in his homely during FRCN Christmas Carol fearlessly berated Jonathan saying that removing subsidy is deadlier than Boko Haram. It was the turn of Jonathan himself yesterday when he spoke for the umpteenth time on the subsidy during the 2011 Christmas Carol Service held at the banquet hall of the Presidential Villa, last night. So there were two Christmas Carols. The one held at National Christian Centre Abuja and the one held at the banquet Hall of the Presidential villa.
Jonathan, what are you up to? For your information there has not been subsidy, what is referred to as subsidy is the storage cost paid to oil importers (the cabal) who you cannot fight. In fact, what is my concern with subsidy? I don’t have anything with it. The actual problem is that the available refineries are not working at 100% capacity. So correct that by investing more in refineries building and stop importing so that we will not be subsidizing.

The way forward is this. Rehabilitate and build more refineries so that we refine & sell to public locally. Oil majors who are conspirators in our problems can be mandated to build refineries as a matter of policy, cancel/revoke the previous refineries license issued to the cabals who used it for crude oil-lifting, these will remove import cost on fuel and with there will be enough fuel for us at pocket friendly price which will knock out oil imports and the issue of subsidy will seize to exist.
