I'm going to share my personal sincere experience from being a very bright sober university student with good academic performance and multiple talents also love by all around me to becoming a deeply hooked crackhead drug addict with a very scrupulous reputation and nearly deserted by family and friends alike.

It will be quite a lengthy post but I'll always come back to write whenever I'm on my leisure time.

I want to use this post to share my personal life experiences on drugs addiction and recovery. This is intended as a means of educating and enlightening individuals and families about drug addiction, how to go about it when they or their family members are affected.

First I must emphasize that the negative effects of drug ADDICTION is tremendous and very debilitating.
The level of addiction depends on the longevity of use and type of substance abused.

In my case, my major addiction is on Crack Cocaine (Charlie,CK, Coca, Coco, White Rock)
This is a very addictive and dangerous substance with high potency for addiction. It's also cruelly expensive and the urge/cravings that come with this drug is very strong.
I was previously addicted to Opiates (Tramadol) and had several seizures from overdose but quilt a few years ago only to find myself fallen deep into crack Cocaine, which is seemingly worse.

This is my 4-5th year of addiction. Though I've made up my mind to quite and it's barely a few days since I quit. I'll be posting my progress here.

Stay active here from time to time.

I'll first be writing about my personal experiences with crack Cocaine use then move to the side and effects, the cravings and heinious crimes I committed just to get money to buy this substance Crack. It almost turned my life over.

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE AFTER USE
Instant euphoria, increased confidence and raised energy, alertness is heightened, become talkative, extremely raised euphoria, increased libido

Negative effects
Dilated pupils, constant cravings, extremely high heart rate, increased blood pressure, muscle spasms, vibrating body, restlessness, insomnia, constant fear of the unknown, profuse sweating, worst of it all is the cravings.
It made me sell of all my properties and loose all my personal relationship and assets, my job, everything. Including selling other people's properties just to fund the crack Cocaine cravings hobby. I nearly got suicidal at some point. Early signs of schizophrenia we're experienced. In fact people started seeing me as crazy. Thank goodness I am now on the train of recovery.

I'll talk about my triggers my urge for taking crack. This usually applies to every other crack addict out there.

There is no amount of money that can sustain that. A crack addict can squander Elon Musk's wealth_it will take time, but it will certainly finish.

I swear! You hit the nail on the head. I've
had first hand experiences. I've had millions and lost them to crack use.
It's a huge life destroyer. And very hard to come out

staying off it for just few days and you are already celebrating? hahahah

For a hardcore crack cocaine addict, even a day is or two off crack is worth celebrating. Let alone days heading to two weeks. The more the days, the lesser the withdrawal symptoms. The first few days were hell!

I'm be writing more details later tonight. I'm still busy with my job as an IT personnel in charge of computer operations in a radio station in my city. We close quite late on weekdays.

Hello Guys

I've been very much occupied with several tasks so I haven't been able to write here for a while.

Well I'm back

It's well up to three weeks since I've abstained from Crack. I must say in this Short while, my life is changing greatly though at a steady slow pace. Here are a few things about my behavioral changes since I quit crack cocaine.

- I'm now meeting up with my work responsibilities.
- I'm now neater and more hygienic. I make sure the few clothes I have I keep them all fully neat and tidied at all times. My environment, my room, my kitchen everything always well arranged at neat. These are things I cared less about and left unkept while I was taking crack.
- I am now focused on living a better life. Starting to have savings even though I'm not yet earning much.
- Decreased independence on people.
- I can now spend more time on myself sitting alone in my room or an isolated place. Before I was always moved to keep moving around.
- I have developed interest in returning back to my educational pursuits though I haven't started.
- My mental health is greatly improved. I no longer forget so much and I can now make vital decisions correctly.
- Couldn't stay in a relationship previous and all my friends deserted me. Only family had my back.
- Working hard to pay off my debt and improve myself. No longer focused on working to buy more crack cocaine to smoke.


The urge still comes in from to time but I do my possible best to get it off my mind. I can watch a movie, go out to chat with friends, take sleep meds or eat when I get the urge.

I'll write more on the challenges I faced in my past days of crack addiction later.
I have to attend to my work.

You haven't said how you stopped. I know quitting is not as easy as you are saying it and may take God's grace to actually stop or visiting a psychiatrist hospital .

Yeah you are right. The most important thing about quitting an addiction is will power.
Some have strong will power while others are weaker. It's about decision making and holding on to that decision.

I'll write more about how I stopped and had continued to stay sober.
I didn't use a psychiatrist as I couldn't afford at the start. I wish I could but I couldn't afford at that time. So I had to take the strong decision of quit totally or I'd be dead in a few months/years without achieving any positive outcome in life.

And didn't want to die with a failed legacy.

Lol any drugs you can think of is available in Nigeria. It's all in the black market.


About funding my addiction, it was a crazy one. I did everything doable to get funds to purchase. It's so expensive. My normal IT job, petty hard jobs, couple of crimes lol. It was a crazy experience.

More than 20 people I personally know are addicted to crack cocaine here in Ebonyi STATE.

Is it possible someone who has abstained from crack for 3 months while staying in a rehab, can go back to it?

Crack cocaine has been very much and readily available for years now in every nook and cranny in Nigeria. In fact crack cocaine and crystal meth aka meth are destroying our youths these days.

You're quite correct, most of the young drug runners do belong to one cult group or the other. In fact most of the recent supremacy battle going on between these cult groups, is about who has control over certain territories where alot of money is been made of these illicit drugs.

If govt track you now arrest you, you go say na village people.

Its just like saying you were once a cocaine sniffer but later stopped. Govt go wan know who dey supply you.

I understand. The reason you think it’s not rampant is because it’s expensive just as OP said. Crack cocaine is highly addictive

If not that whistleblowers don't survive in Nigeria this would have been where he reported them so as to prevent them from selling and help security agencies fish out suppliers

Do you mean that this addiction is stronger than betting?
