Unidentified gunmen have launched another attack on operatives of the Anambra State Vigilante Service.

The incident happened along the Amesi-Uga Road in Aguata Local Government Area, Anambra State, on Sunday evening, sources said.

A source stated that the incident left one vigilante member injured, while their operational vehicle was set ablaze.

The Anambra State Police Spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident in a press statement released on Monday.

He said police operatives responded swiftly to the attack, rescuing the injured vigilante who was immediately taken to the hospital and is now receiving treatment.

According to Ikenga, the police secured the scene of the attack to prevent further criminal activity and ensure properties and goods were safeguarded.

He noted that joint security forces have intensified patrols in the area, employing intelligence-led operations to deny the criminals the opportunity to cause further harm and facilitate their eventual arrest.

In a separate development, Ikenga reported that police operatives from the Okpoko Divisional Headquarters responded to a distress call regarding a fire outbreak at Chukwunonso Street along Obodoukwu Road, Okpoko.

“The scene was cordoned off to prevent hoodlums from exploiting the situation to loot properties, and swift action by fire service operatives brought the situation under control.

“An investigation into the cause of the fire has been initiated to prevent future occurrences,” Ikenga said.

While it will take time for the SE region to fully recover from the terror activities of Simon Ekpa, I believe that common sense is not common.

Most terrorist sympathizers lack emotional intelligent and empathy and will see the people murdered by IPOB as just a number to count until the killing happens to their very own loved ones.

Keep supporting terrorist until your daughter, son, wife, husband, father, mother or friend get murdered by the same gun men who will not differentiate them during the attacks.

Your support for murderers against your own kins men (no matter your reasons) shows that your brain is very much underdeveloped, primitive and is still undergoing evolutionary development. Even Gorrilas know how to protect their own.

I am sure you are a new entrant here so you wouldn't know who is Chino and what he did in this forum. I took it as a duty to counter all their lies here against Ebonyians. Sometimes we even fixed a date to meet at Onitsha for a fight between Ebonyians and Anambrians ,it was that serious.

It was one pazienza who is always a pro one Igbo entity here that brokered a ceasefire between us and chino

In the case of Odoh, don't pretend that you don't know what transpired there, it was purely politics, I saw it coming that the ruling party will not allow Odoh to take that position,it's not possible especially when Odoh is yet to reconcile with Ebonyi state governor coupled with Umahis hatred for him.

Why is it that all of you APC card carrying members always have this hatred for ndiigbo? Including those of you who are igbos. Why is it so?

I have never seen you condemn all these attacks against ndiigbo here. Not for once yet you claim to be Igbo. Igbo hatred is what seems to unite you guys in the APC fold.
