If you want to save money, you can install a toilet with a hidden cistern yourself. To do this, you need to draw up a simple plan and purchase the necessary materials. You need to decide in advance how you will sheathe the wall behind which the cistern will be hidden.

For this, panels, plasterboard and ceramic tiles can be used. The tools you will need are a hammer drill, a drill, a tape measure, a pencil, screwdrivers, adjustable wrenches and spanners.

Communications supply

If the installation is carried out in an old house, it is better to immediately replace the sewer and water pipes with new ones. You may need a 110 mm plastic elbow. It is desirable that the toilet is as close to the riser as possible.

Frame installation

Before installing the frame, mark it out. It is important that the floor is level. The frame position is checked using a level. For adjustment, use retractable rods and pins.

Then the toilet is installed on the frame and checked to see how conveniently it is positioned. If everything is fine, the frame is attached to the floor and wall using dowels.

Connecting the toilet

Attaching the toilet to the frame is easy. The main difficulty is in connecting the pipes properly. One of them supplies water to the tank. The second pipe discharges waste water into the sewer system.

All connections must be hermetically sealed. Elastic gaskets are mandatory. As a rule, modern toilets are sold with the necessary components.

First, install and connect the toilet without a cistern. Then install the cistern. The fixing nuts must be tightened well.

Checking the completed work

You cannot start facing work without testing the system. You need to make sure there are no leaks. Try draining the water several times. You can check for moisture in the joints using a regular napkin or cloth. It must be absolutely dry.
