One harmattan period, I unplugged our evil fridge to plug this demonic boiler cos I been wan bath hot water. I ignorantly put hand inside the bucket of water to check if it's hot enough, na so this wicked boiler knack me for ground.

I stood up and unplugged the boiling ring and plug the fridge, na so the fridge also knack me for ground.

I was on the ground for over five minutes observing the fridge and the boiler. Na that day I conclude say na electric shock kill me for my former life.

The boiling ring do shock me on a steady, but the one I will always remember was the day I added salt to the beans my aunt was cooking... Normally, she do boil the beans with this ring to make it soft before transferring to the stove and adding ingredients so as to preserve kerosene. But I no know wetin enter my head that day that made me to add salt, that shock was on a different level, na God save me.

Salt water conduct electricity. Little Chemistry.

That shock ehhhhhhh
I got back from secondary skool those days.....momsy had cooked egusi soup for lunch, I never liked egusi for any reason. I got angry, measured 2 cups of that lovely big sized beans that got done very fast, washed and put it in a pot with required water to cook, dipped in my boiling ring pressed the socket button to ON.......🍳😀.......

.......30 minutes later,I took a spoon to check if the beans was soft enuf to transfer pot to a stove in order to add extra ingredients..🥰🥔🥔🥔🍲🧂🍱🧄🌶🫑🧅🍄
Alas....immediately the spoon touched the water💧inda pot.....the shock flung me to the mattress(was boil stuff inda room on code)......Immediately I got up, I folded the heater, went outside, flung it across the fence, went back inside the kitchen, carried the egusi soup and ate quietly 🤫....
The shock humbled me aswear 🤣🤣🤣🤣

So many people complaining about how the boiling ring dey shock. But the fault is not from the boiling ring. The fault is your carelessness and ignorance of how to handle it.

Mine was in year one.
It was like the coca cola bottle in the gods must be crazy film.
Every one in the room was always in need of my boiling ring.
We will use it to cook bean, boil rice, prepare garri, boil water before going for lecture.
Then one evening,it exploded.
Potters rushed to our room.
I denied my boiler.
The boiler cant speak for itself.

A fellow student then in DELSU Abraka living off Campus plugged it on to boil water but NEPA took light and he forgot to put it off and went to school. He only remembered hours later and started running back home, on entering the road to his house he saw a small crowd and knew it has happened he has burned someone's house down.
God saved him as smoke was coming out of his locked room when power was restored neighbours have to break the room and put off the fire which was already burning somethings.
It's a dangerous thing to have at home.

Salt is a bad ass conductor, there is a reason it's deployed in earthing as part of thunder arrestor.
