When the Nigerian government should be focusing on productivity, export to strengthened the value of naira and it's people, they are focusing on taxing the already drained people. Where are the monies removed from subsidy and continual borrowing? It is well.

Context! Then they wanted to hike VAT with no corresponding tax relief for the poor. This time he has excluded the poor from taxes.

Another yeye excuse from people who want to make Nigerians suffer just for their selfish interest of securing lagos' VATs
Which poor people were excluded?
There are over 133million poor people in Nigeria. How many of them are workers?
Majority are petty traders
And they'll pay VATs when they buy things they need, the usual levies they pay at their shops, market places will be increased and inflation will also catch up with them.

How did he exempt the poor when now u pay 50# vat on every #10000#&bove deposited I to ur account

You pay on outgoing transaction from your account not incoming. If you are poor you are very unlikely to spend N10,000 at a go. And by the way N50 on N10,000 is 0.5%

You are complaining about N50 on 10,000 but you have no problem playing POS N400
To get N10,000?

I am not a poor man. I don’t pay POS operators for cash. If I am buying something from you and you don’t have POS too bad for you , I find someone who has.

Mwhenthe VAT increase then would hurt the poor they passed it. Now that the BAT increase doesn’t they say they need to consult. When they removed fuel and forex subsidy these governors didn’t remember the masses because they were getting more from FAAC. Now that they will have to work to generate their money they remmember the suffering of the masses.

Yeye dey small

To quote Seriake Dickson.

“When yaradua proposed 10% for oil producing states, National Assembly reduced it to 3% and heaven did not fall, this tax bill will pass and heaven will not fall”

Name one relief that will protect the poor from VAT ? Name it

Here we go

Is this bill increasing tax or reducing it? There are even so many exemptions self

The target of this bill is to have more base which will generate more income while at the same time convenient for the tax payers as there would be reduction based on extension.

There are no exemptions with Buhari's VAT initiative not even Tax which is broad based

Make una stop pettiness about the tax reform bill . Over reacting can lead to explosion, harmattan dey oo

Tax reform arguing with VAT.. Illiteracy na indeed a disease

You can't even read the post. You're the one overreacting here.

They are all idiotic hypocrites.

Like his principal that rejected subsidy removal in 2012, VAT hike will favour him at this time.

A lot of Nigerians are criminals. Majority of those talking against corruption now, is because they are not the ones in charge of stealing. Like this idiotic hypocrite, put them where they can steal and watch them sing a different song.

One? I’ll give you two

By removing their taxes they have more disposable income
Secondly they have removed VAT on the items poor people spend their money on. 600 food items, education, health care, sanitation, transportation.

There is no VAT in the market!

There is nothing wrong with that. People change their minds often as situation on ground necessitates. Tinubu himself was once against fuel price hike under Jonathan but has now shifted ground with his total subsidy removal.

The tax bills are necessary and must be passed into law.

If Oyedele's boss can change Buhari from expired to messiah in order to get his ebilokan turn for extra level shege on 200n million Nigerians, what is the surprise here

Emergingnation:
Flashback: How Bola Tinubu spoke highly of Buhari in 2015, named PDP ‘Poverty Development Party

National leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu had during the presidential campaign in 2015, referred to President Muhammadu Buhari as the only solution for the security and economic challenges facing Nigeria.

During a mega presidential rally, the former governor of Lagos State recalled how some powerful nations in the world returned to army generals when they were challenged, saying “Major General Buhari would revive Nigeria’s economy”.

He named the current opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP as the “Poverty Development Party saying they had nothing to offer.

His words at the time were; “Every nation has a period of their own challenges, when America was challenged, they turned to one great man, their ex-military general, General Eisenhower. When the French were challenged, they turned to their general, Charles de Gaulle.

“When Britain was challenged, they turned to their general. Today, Nigeria is economically and physically challenged so we turn to General Muhammadu Buhari. He is the right man for the job. If you talk about military experience, he has it abundantly, he has courage, simplicity, he has it abundantly.

“If you talk about great determination, a combination of vision and ability to perform, honesty and integrity, he has it abundantly.

“I laugh when the incapable government, ‘Poverty Development Party’ PDP were talking. They have nothing again to say, they now want to question the qualifications of General Buhari and look for his certificate”.

Following the manifestos in 2015 which projected the APC presidential candidate as a ‘saviour’, Buhari defeated the then incumbent president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan with Nigerians expecting a total change in security and economy.

There's even no change of mind there. He doesn't support a unilateral increase in VAT which affects the poor. He wants people who earn below 1million naira per annum to pay 0% tax while companies and people that earn above 100million naira have their tax percentage increased a little.
