Best time to buy will be when it gets close to 1200 because by the time it springs back like earlier this year, it will surpass the 2000 naira benchmark

If you can think long term... It doesn't matter.

It is projected to be ₦5000 to $1 by next election.

I don't see it stabilizing below ₦1500 tho and that's if at all it's going to stabilize.

For example, one person familiar with the operation of the market suggests that the market is experiencing more supply than demand.
With supply outstripping demand, the naira has gained against the dollar.

However, it is unclear where the supply in the market is coming from, as there is no official data to explain this. For instance, the dynamics of pricing might change if the supply is primarily driven by the central bank.

Re: Why The Naira Is Appreciating Against The Dollar by okoloto: 11:13pm On Dec 07
Only production and export can stabilize the naira. China currency inflation rate has been same since over 20 years. The price of what you buy today is same to what you bought 20 years ago. Only good policies and production for export can do that magic. We virtually import all we need. Why won't exchange rate fluctuate and rises by the day.
We were told that once we stop importing fuel the naira will drop to the dollar. With dangote and ph refinery, there is no change.
The reason for the drop is because many are coming in with the dollar for Xmas. Let's see what happens by January. Forget all this govt story for the gods

Who said things are turning around for the better?

You are losing 6-0 but then you manage to score 1 goal, then you want to claim that things are turning around for the better.

Lol.

lol. By Monday it’ll hit 1650 or more.

You think your CBN governor did any magic to make it appreciate?

The USD depreciated to most world currencies because of some announcements made during the past week.

Tell APC to take back the exchange rate to where they met it before we can celebrate. APC used this dollar exchange rate which according to them was at N216 to campaign against PDP. APC had said the N216 to $1 was too high. I wonder if this N1570 is lower than N216?
You don't have sense ... Subsidized currency ... Olodo

We pray that this becomes a lasting reality for the Nigerian economy where it is difficult for rates that have gone high to come down and stay down.

It really has not been easy for the Nigerian masses coping with the exorbitant cost of living in recent times. It is just so insane.
A lot of people are now turning to other avenues to give their lives and hopes a meaning as the Nigerian dream does not seem to be anywhere near materializing yet. But hopefully it will, soon, we pray.

The other day, a friend of mine was telling me about his plans to raise funds through crowdfunding so as to support his dying business in this harsh economic condition. That got me thinking... Raising funds for business through Crowdfunding could be a really good way to help oneself survive and even prosper in this trying times. If one is able to raise enough capital for business or for meeting other reasonable needs, one could scale one's small business to an international level, thereby being able to easily earn the so called 'hard currencies' that make ones life a lot better.

I have been looking around for what crowdfunding platform to join, but I found that most of them have conditions that are often difficult to meet for people from certain regions. After checking through the list of over 25 of them, I found www.donorsgift.com to have a lot of appealing features and also the easiest. I am currently crafting an article I shall post on the website to create my fundraising campaign today. What do you guys think?

Check back in three months.

The same people who created the rules will inform speculators on how to break it. This is nothing short of CBN intervention which is always short-lived.
