Please be very carefull on how you go about the purchase of Blackberry mobile phones. I have observed that quite alot of shops in the market sell refurbished phones to the populace and this include the so called BRANDED and UK used phones. Even the accesories that comes with these phones are not the manufacturers original i.e to identify an original blackberry pouch, go to your phone profile settings and set it to Vibrate or RING while in HOLSTER, afterwards put your mobile in the Pouch then call it. If your Pouch is an original it is meant to vibrate while in the Pouch but if it doesn't after you have called the line in the phone then the Pouch being fake is an indication that your phone is refurbished.

Secondly, in as much as possible do away from 'BRANDED' and the so called London used phones. The are mostly refurbished, though some can be okay if it is from a sincere source but if its from most shops in the Computer Village i can assure you its a refurbished.

My advice:

Always buy genuine NEW phones. Its not a must you buy the Torch's and Bold's when you cannot afford a new one, always make do with what you can afford so you will avoid the ugly situation of being sold a refurbished Blackberry phone to.

Simple solution shop from the US, for your Blackberry Phones, and also for tech gadgets at least you know they were manufactured for the US market(quite different from what you get over here). yes you are right.most shops at the computer village sells refurbish phones,their prices will tell you but pointing finger on Branded phones is not enough even unbranded phones have refurbish.if you check online on those phones,you will see that they are expensive but coming to Nigeria that don't manufacture phones is very cheap.Most Nigeria don't care about that but they only care that the product is cheap not that is original.whoever wants original phones should go to the right place.
